This Is What A $60 Million High School Football Stadium Looks Like

Allen High School in Allen, Texas will play their first home game in their brand new $60 million football stadium later this month. The stadium, which holds 18,000 is expected to be sold out all season, with over 8,000 season tickets sold. For comparison there were 17 Division I-A (FBS) football teams that averaged less than 18,000 fans per game in 2011.

The $60 million stadium was part of a $119 million bond package that was earmarked for new construction projects by the school district, and approved by voters. This particular package came only after it was determined that all other building needs in the district had been met.

In other words, they had an extra $60 million laying around that had to be used on construction of a new building, so they built a new football stadium.

This is why we can't have nice things.

I guess the DUmmies missed the part where the stadium was approved BY THE VOTERS.  Bunch of facists.  "You can't have that because I don't want you to."

I think a majority of Texans are already Hispanic.  And you can take that boring crap that the rest of the world refers to as football and just shove it.

I'd rather not get in a cultural pissing war with them. I have a son who plays the US version of football and a daughter who plays soccer. My daughter works harder then almost any sport out there at conditioning. They run, do drills, etc et all until they are puking. The kids run anywhere from 6-9 miles per game and close to the same in most practices--every day of the week. There's nothing sissy about the fitness level of the young men and women who do it.

Just because the DUmmies can't help but bash anything uniquely American doesn't mean the other sport mentioned is a pos. DUMMIES are just anti-American assholes who can't appreciate anything because of their own America hatred and total lack of sophistication about anything they don't deem as 'cool' in their world. They are like babies saying I hate my mom because she made me mad. Ignore their stupid unqualified dumbasss general statements and certainly don't drag yourself to their level in an effort to slap their hands.

Real Americans will never take up 'Kick ball".

I'm sure this was built with union labor so the stadium should be AOK.

I do have to say something here about the schools being built.   Back in my day the schools were basically square/rectangular buildings made of cinder block.  Now they look like they should be on Architecture Digest.  It's ignorant.  Spend that money on the kids and not the damn buildings.

I'd like to see any soccer/Football tean from around the world and put them against the worse NFL team and see how long they last playing by American football rules. I'm betting the soccer/football team wouldn't last till half time.

My son played soccer year round all his life. Still plays on teams with fellow Marines. Runs like a gazelle. Also runs marathons (now that's boring). Soccer has opened a lot of doors for him. To each his own.

Soccer is being pushed by overprotective mothers who don't want their little babies getting hurt or being exposed to the "violence" of football.  First it's football, next thing you know they want to play with toy guns.  :panic:

Shut up, shut up, shut up. This is TEXAS and high school football is what we do. If you don't like it you probably don't have a passport to be here.
