There are very few blue states, anyway.  There are blue cities in otherwise red states, but I foresee wars if city-based moonbats want to drag decent and civilized people into seceding.  So, they'll have to settle for taking their little enclaves and trying to make a cohesive nation out of those.

That map shows that liberalism is a cancer.

Moonbats took over CA, getting all of their liberal policies enacted. The cost of all of these programs made it prohibitive to live there. They began a migration into AZ, as the map shows, where they started getting their liberal policies enacted.

Wash, rinse and repeat.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I like this mental exercise, DUmmy. In typical DUmmy fashion, you have failed to consider the consequences.

Here is the 2008 electoral map of the lower 48:

Might as well split Florida in half. The panhandle will NEVER side with the loons in the South.

I got this from another board from believe it or not a Texan.

So what does Texas have to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston. We'll control the space industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States .

3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with Texas," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? ... Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama?

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need, and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will have to figure out a way to keep them warm.

6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications equipment -small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Microconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. The Houston Medical Center alone, where Michael DeBakey did his first heart transplant employees over 65,000 people.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us getting smarter: The University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Rice, SMU, University of Dallas , University of Houston , Baylor, UNT ( University of North Texas ), Texas Women's University, Texas State, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway. Np, there isn't a Sam Houston Institute of Technology (no S.H.I.T.)

9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force, and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions here in Texas. it's a Right to Work State. Therefore, it's every man and women for themselves. We just go out and get the job done. And if we don't like the way one company operates, we get a job somewhere else.

10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance industries, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and several large military bases. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles, several pistols, and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours or 24 minutes if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers.

12. We're totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook 'em so that they taste good. Barbeque, chili, and Tex-Mex. Don't need any food from other places.

13. Three of the ten largest cities in the United States, and twenty-three of the 100 largest cities in the United States, are located in Texas. And Texas also has more land than California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Vermont combined.

14. Trade: Three of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in Texas.

15. We also manufacture cars, trucks, and heavy road building equipment down here, but we don't need to. Except for near the gulf coast, nothing rusts in Texas. Most of our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades.

16. We have every kind of land here from desert to swamps and from high mountains to sea coast.

17. And don't forget we have no state income tax. Houston has no pesky zoning laws or other building regulations (except for necessary safety regulations), so you can build a roller coaster right next to a residence. They like it that way.

These are just a few of the things that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There's nothing out there we need and don't have.

Add in the other southern gulf states and the energy market and shipping port control is all but total.

What would really happen, NannyGoatStater, is you would have to build walls to keep people from escaping and then your population would slowly start to death.

There would be no corporations to raid. They would all leave before you got the first brick in your wall laid and your starving population would be too weak from hunger to care about that "living minimum wage."  In the end, you would either be pleading for aid from the "red states" you despise or doing a constant 24/7 propaganda campaign blaming the United states for your troubles, just like every other tin horn dictator has done since the start of this great nation.

And let me just end by saying, NannyGoatStater, you are an idiot. Why don't you simply move to Cuba or N. Korea?

A few more aspects of what will happen in "Bluetopia," as some of the DUmmies call the Socialist dictatorship they envision, in addition to its obvious economic collapse:

Contraband material: Marijuana, cocaine, LSD, heroin, crystal meth, and other such drugs will all be fully legalized. In contrast, the government in "Bluetopia" will completely ban/ outlaw anything containing tobacco, salt, sugar, and anything non- vegan.

Education: Private schools and home schooling will be completely abolished. All children will be required to attend public schools from Pre- K to 12th grade. Curriculum will be handed down by the government, with parents haing no say on what their children are taught, and with less emphasis on the 3 R's (Reading, writing, and arithmetic) than on the 3 S's (Sex ed, self- esteem, and "Social justice"). Rules and discipline for students will be greatly relaxed, on the basis that punishing kids for wrongdoing "stifles their creativity." Standardized testing and the grading system will be abolished, both on the grounds that receiving failing grades in school is considered harmful to kids' self- esteem and hurts their feelings, and on the grounds that it can foster feelings of "Inequality" between those students that perform well and those that do not. Nothing shall stop students from proceeding grade to grade and graduating from high school. Consequently, illiteracy and an inability to write or do basic math will fluorish in "Bluetopia."

Free speech: Child pornography will be fully legalized (Posession, distribution, and even production). In contrast, any citizen who is heard making an even remotely conservative statement, saying a Christian prayer in public, or reciting a Bible verse in public will be immediately arrested for committing a hate crime. On the subject, any book deemed "Offensive" in "Bluetopia" (i.e. 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,' 'Atlas Shrugged,' 'Fahrenheit 451,' the works of William Shakespeare, anything written by a conservative pundit or Christian theologian, and any books pertaining to history that contradict the government- mandated school curriculum for history classes) will be banned, publicly burned, and those found in possession of them will be arrested for committing a hate crime.

Freedom of Religion: In "Bluetopia," the right to the free exercise of religious beliefs will now apply only to atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, and the various mysticism/ occult- based religions such as Satanism and Wicca. Christianity will be almost completely outlawed, with only a few churches allowed to remain open, on the condition that they never recite Scripture, and only give government- approved sermons having to do with "Liberation theology" and new age beliefs. Judaism will get off somewhat more lightly, but only on the condition that their synagogues never bring up the 10 Commandments, any other prohibitions on personal behavior, or anything that could be considered support of the Nation of Israel. Any churches or synagogues that do not comply with these laws will be shut down, their buildings demolished and the land/ assets seized by the government, and all their leaders, staff, and known members arrested for committing hate crimes.

Criminal Justice: In "Bluetopia," murderers, thieves, gang members, and sex offenders (Especially child molestors) will be punished as leniently as possible, with probation, community service, and counseling handed out as sentences far more often than jail time, especially if the perp in question happens to be a member of a protected minority group. In contrast, those convicted of committing hate crimes (Especially the ones mentioned above) will receive astronomical fines and lengthy prison sentences.

Lifestyle choices: The age of sexual consent in "Bluetopia" will be lowered from 18 to 3, and bestiality will be fully legalized. After gay marriage is legalized (With any official refusing to perform a gay marriage promptly arrested for committing a hate crime), gays will then regain the right to donate blood without any restrictions. This will backfire, though, as in less than a year of this coming into effect, at least a third of "Bluetopia"'s population will become infected with AIDS, with it soon developing into a plague even worse in "Bluetopia" than it currently is in various African nations.

I dream of a world where Texas exercises it's right as a Rebublic to secede from the union. I also have hopes it starts a movement in the south to peacefully follow their lead based on the trampling of the constitution recently. Create a new USA based on it's original ideals and give any moonbats who don't like it a free ride to the border.

Companies in Blutopia stupid enough to stay there will be taxed at the rate they pay at home, you know since they're used to it and all. Everyone else would be on a flat rate tax. Criminals will be dealt with quickly and fairly. Concealed carry for all would make anyone think long and hard before trying anything stupid anyways.

Immigration would remain as it is, except for Blutopians AKA BluDopians. They would be required to take a basic IQ test, to have enough money to survive for 5 years on their own and have a marketable skill before entrance. Illegal aliens would be treated as the criminals they are and would be working 60 hours a week punishment on the infastructure for several years before deportment. Slackers don't eat. Disruptors stay 1 year longer per incident. Don't like that? There'll plenty of need for fill along the roads.

I like this mental exercise, DUmmy. In typical DUmmy fashion, you have failed to consider the consequences.

Here is the 2008 electoral map of the lower 48:

DUmmyland is made up of four unconnected territories- East Libertopia, West Libertopia, Mexitopia del Norte, and Cubatopia del Norte. Lots of hungry mouths and hands out for "free" government cheese. Not so much farmland, oil, or coal. Look forward to cold, hungry winters.

The red state territory shall continue to be known as "The United States of America". Why? Because every red state shares at least one border with another red state.  I see oil and coal in the red states; cattle, wheat, and corn. With the natural defection of the military from DUmmyland to the USA, they would bring aircraft, ships, tanks, and rail stock with them. The Gulf Coast is a natural and easily defensible free trade conduit with the rest of the world.

Remember all of those warships and planes, DUmmies? How will you defend your territory, with uptwinkles and healing white light? Guess who will control the Mississippi River and the sea lanes? Guess who will be paying tariffs to ship goods in and out?

In six months, who will be our bitches? Suffice it to say, it will be you.

Bring it, DUmmies.  Just bring it.

I like that map. It would give me a very good reason to move to Idaho/Montana.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

What is the theme song for Bluetopia ?
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Ok, gotta say something about this, what appears to be a chain letter, many of which are full of falsehoods.

1) Cape Canaveral? Edwards? Don't they all have redundant functions in case something happens in Houston?

2) Louisiana and New Jersey only fit into that 15%? Not saying Texas doesn't do a LOT of refining; just having a hard time believing they do 85%.

3) I REALLY don't believe this. How is 65% of our defense industry in Texas?

I think you are correct. However, I do believe that there was something similar but it included Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. In which case, I find it much more correct.
