Jackson is planning on stretching it over three movies.

In the blogs he's talking about two movies. There is talk of making an in between movie based on Tolkien's notes, but thats just talk right now.

as it is, they just finished filming the live action for both movies, and post production is underway.

The original Legolas and Gandalf are there. So are Arwen and Galadriel. Elrond is also played by the same actor.
and Golum is voiced played by the original too.

The sets are reproduced exactly for Hobbitown and Rivendell. Bilbo's house was never dismantled.
At the request of the New Zealand govt, Hobbittown was built as a permanent fixture with real bricks and mortar and not a temporary Hollywood illusion. So its now a real site, and the govt is making it a park. with the party tree and all.

There are several movies coming out near the end of this year that I'm looking forward to:
1. The Hobbit, obviously.
2. Les Miserables (The cast looks great, and I'd imagine even just seeing/ hearing Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham- Carter performing 'Master of the House' will be well worth the ticket price).
3. Wreck- it Ralph (A departure from Disney's "Fairy- tale" theme, but looks very interesting and entertaining).
4. 007: Skyfall (James Bond. 'Nuff said).

No one will ever do Les Miserables better than Liam Neeson.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Neeson's one of my favorite actors, but this will be an adaptation of the stage musical (Hence my 'Master of the House' comment), and I'm not sure if Neeson can sing or not. The actor playing Jean in this version, Hugh Jackman, is a good actor and seems to have a pretty good singing voice, as he sang in the opening show of the 2009 Oscars.
