DemocracyInaction (2,414 posts) Is This Election Really Going to Be ALL About the Economy? Last edited Sun Aug 5, 2012, 03:28 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)The media has pounded day in and day out since last fall that all other subjects make no difference. They TELL US...yes, 'tell us'....that it will be all about the economy and nothing else and it will all depend on the unemployment numbers, etc. They know that it is the only hope repukes have. Their pet crap like defense has dried up for them. ( On the side they keep pushing 'race' dog whistles just as back up.) I think people are more interested in protecting what they already HAVE. They are scared shitless of attacks on everything from Medicare/medicaid to SS, food stamps, unemployment and the like because they know it's going to take a long time for this economy to recover (if it ever does) from the nuke the repukes dumped on it under Bush. I think they are also pissed off at rich people wiping their faces in it and threatening to make them pay more taxes by wiping out middle class deductions, etc. The bottom line for Obama is to counteract this paid media hype and show an economically nervous country the long list of what more they are going to lose under repukes and this offal of society called the Tea Party. There is another SIDE of this "all about the economy" meme.....the "what you are going to lose" side.
TheCowsCameHome (25,241 posts) 3. Rmoney would like it to be just the economybecause he knows absolutely nothing about anything else. His fiasco in Europe last week proved that.

They have extended unemployment benefits time and time again....they will let them expire now so they can report a drop in unemployment. Obama will use that as a indication that the economy is improving.
His fiasco in Europe last week proved that.
The incompetent in chief knows he is doomed, that is why the kitchen sink is being thrown mid summer.DUmmies should really get some political education.
8. Even if it is all about the economypeople still have a clear choice. They can't reject Obama because his policies did keep us from going off a financial cliff and he's had over two years of positive public sector job growth.
The state of the economy will have nothing to do with the election this November. The outcome will depend on the black turnout in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia.
Oh I DO hope someone here has a mole deep enough so when they go on lock down suicide watch they'll be able to report back here.Cindie

Hey DUmmie, if you meant what you typed, you should know that normal people might see this as a reason to throw him under the bus. More and more faceless, unaccountable government drones with outrageously expensive pension plans and benefits that the rest of us have to pay for.
