I hate to change the subject here but did anyone else read the paper at the link? If you haven't it's well worth the time. It is a bit of a read but it is well written and easy to follow.
This pretty much tells it like it is.
In much the same way, gun control has historically been a tool of racism, and associated with racist attitudes about black violence. Similarly, many gun control laws impinge on that most fundamental of rights: self-defense. Racism is so intimately tied to the history of gun control in America that we should regard gun control aimed at law-abiding people as a "suspect idea," and require that the courts use the same demanding standards when reviewing the constitutionality of a gun control law, that they would use with respect to a law that discriminated based on race.
Much of what the paper talks about still holds true in the LIBERAL controlled cities throughout the country. Through what could be considered racist gun laws blacks and other minorities are unable to arm themselves and as a result crime runs rampant in many intercity areas. Gangs have taken over and hundreds of innocent citizens are killed annually, caught in the crossfire of gang violence. As we have all seen there has been a pro-gun movement in this country the last few years and if memory serves it's like 49 states that have concealed carry laws now, along with many who have passed still controversial "stand your ground laws" It is way past time for politicians to stop treating minorities like they can't be trusted or like they are somehow second class citizens. If the government treats people badly they are going to act badly.
It shouldn't matter if a person is black, hispanic, white or what ever color, they should not be deprived of their basic right to defend themselves, their families and homes against these murderous thugs that roam our city streets. In my opinion these city governments that have enacted draconian gun laws are in violation of the constitution and are depriving people of their rights and as such should be dealt with accordingly.
