Yeah, the wife ain't bad for (at that time) a 67 year old chick!

Yeah. We still miss Emmy.  :bawl: Our vet came to the house and put her down, since she just started to suddenly fail. The ground was so hard and full of roots that I called my buddy and he used his backhoe to dig her grave. He even had a hard time with his backhoe. Now she's buried in the back yard, along with Sara, Nikki, Bob, Barney, Tandlyn, and 3 others whose names I can't recall this morning. (Had REAL bad leg cramps Friday night [spent 5 hours on the floor since my legs wouldn't work and the pain was tremendous], and now the muscles in my legs are really, really sore.)

I need to clarify, I have been all around that region, but have yet to visit the Grand Canyon.  When I get there, I won't be base jumping, that is for dang sure.

Sorry you lost your good dog.  Looks like she was fortunate to have you in her life.

Your photos are beautiful.  I can imagine the smell of the cedar, pine, and soil.

I neglected to mention that there is only ONE spot on the North Rim where you can see the Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon. This is it. Look through the bottom of the arch. It can also be seen on the top of the arch on the pathway.

This is a pic I couldn't resist.

Great shots, as usual, CG!

When Mrs E and I went to the North Rim (2003 or 2004), I was surprised to see that the Colorado River couldn't be seen. We actually didn't stay long -- maybe a couple of hours. It looks like you and Mrs CG spent a few days.

Yep, we camped there for 2 or 3 days. We only left because it got so damned cold and windy at night, and our old camper had no heat.
