I'm no gun nut, I don't own a gun (although i admit, I've discussed them with the dealer at my local fishing/gun store). I've fired long arms -- a Winchester rifle that blew a bullet clean through a three-foot wide tree, and a basic shotgun that scattered deer shot over a bunch of plastic Coke bottles -- but I don't have much experience with handguns, other than 22 pellet types.

...uh...back in the 60's I had a 6.5 Italian that would penetrate 36" of oak easily.

But it and an German 8 mm Mauser would only go a few inches at best into sand.

I tend not to make OPs and rash statements (pretending they are facts) about topics I know little about.  Maybe give an opinion or two, but that's about it.

Pedro should likewise limit himself in *his* rash statements.  Shot clean through a 3 foot tree?  Deer shot?  Please!

I am not saying there are not rounds that can do it but highly unlikely Pedro would ever get his hands on something like that.
Doubt the surfer boy could stand the recoil of a commercial .30-60 round even.

I've been hanging around with the primitives, sub rosa of course, a great deal lately, and it surprises me to no end how the primitives lie even to each other.

We expect them to lie to decent and civilized people, but to other primitives?
