Democrats have raised questions about when exactly Romney left Bain . Romney has said he left in 1999 to oversee preparations for the Salt Lake City Olympics, but SEC documents show him listed as Bain’s CEO beyond that time.

Gillespie on Sunday sought to clarify the matter, saying that Romney initially thought he would be leaving Bain on a temporary basis, but the challenges of the Olympics led him to “retire retroactively.”

"There may have been a thought at the time that it could be part time, but it was not part time," Gillespie said.

"He took a left of absence and in fact he ended up not going back at all, and retired retroactively to 1999 as a result," he added. He left a life he loved to go to Salt Lake City and help a country he loves more, and somehow Chicago… is trying to make it something sinister." "

Just when you think the GOP can't get any more creative in their excuses for Romney...

Simply put, Romney took a leave of Absence in 1999, then made his departure permanent, starting from when he took his leave of absence. It happens quite a bit in the business world, where even regular employees take a leave of absence, then choose to retire. The date of retirement is often immediately after the last day they actually worked - e.g. the first date of the employee's leave of absence, assuming they didn't ever return.

Do the primitives understand this ? Apparently not.

-So, now they seem to be claiming Romney didn't actually leave Bain at all, and then filled out paperwork 'retroactively' indicating that he did..when he didn't.. or something like that.

Its like not only is Lucy gearing up to pull the football away, the Charlie Brown primitives are begging her to do so by feeding their own fantasies.

continued to serve on three (3) boards of directors (Staples, Marriott
International and Life Like). The Respondent returned to Massachusetts from
Utah to attend meetings at Staples. The Respondent declined to join any
boards in Utah, with the exception of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce,
which he joined as an ex-officio member in an effort to promote and

I think it was a couple of things.

Bush Fatigue. The left successfully painted McCain as "Bush's 3rd term" - average people probably bought that Obama had good intentions for America, and would be somewhat moderated and guided along by the more experienced Biden.

Historic significance. Many Americans who really didn't have an opinion either way on Obama (And why would they ? he did absolutely nothing to rock any boats - good or bad) figured being among the first people to elect a black president was a pretty noble thing - they felt that their vote would help illustrate that America is finally beyond race.

Now however -- all that is gone.

The Obama administration has done essentially nothing to help improve anyone's lives, save for the ACA, which most people on both the left & right dislike. The only people who feel like they have gotten something are those who enjoy getting things at other people's expense.

We have now elected a black guy. Been there, done that. Now people are going to measure Obama by his actions, and it seems most aren't impressed. People also realize that instead of working to end racial division, Team Obama is intentionally cranking it up to eleven. The only people who like easing up in illegal immigrants are other illegal immigrants and their sympathizers.  The only people who approve of race-based politics are other racists.

I have a different opinion on the matter - Other than the blatant narcissism and attacking religion as heartily as they do at the DUmp, I always felt that Charles has attempted to redefine conservatism, and has appointed himself high minister of the new organization. - In many ways Charles now out 'Ron Pauls' the original Ron Paul. - Take everything a Paultard believes and multiply the intensity of that belief by 1000%. Then mix in a generous helping of righteous indignation, and you'll get the picture.
