Running my first 5K race today

I'll be running my first 5K today, and I'm super excited  :yahoo:  I've been running regularly lately, but I think that participating in a race will make me feel like I might actually be a real runner.  I'm doing the Color Run, so people will be throwing colored powder at me while I run, and it looks like it will just plain be a good time.

One of my kids has a blast doing them.  Seems like there is always a fun theme.

Good luck, and don't forget to stretch it out good head to toe before your run. It's bad luck to say "good luck" in show business, you know what good luck there is ?

They had one a week or two ago in Council Bluffs I think. I saw the news report and when she says they toss colored powder at you they are not kidding. A lot of people on that news report came out of it looking like a paint store exploded  all over them.

I survived, the run, but it reminded me why I run on a treadmill in an air conditioned gym.  Running at 90-95 degrees is brutal.  I ended up walking more than I wanted, but it was a good lesson to go to early races. 

It was fun though  :yahoo:

Good for you.  I have no idea how you run in the humidity.  Heat I can do.  Humidity?  I'm a wimp.

My daughter's jealous you got to do a "color run."  I'd never heard of one until you mentioned it.
