But of course Gennie is an Israeli citizen, so are all Jews around the world.    Israel is their Home Land regardless of where they were born.

Gene was, as we are told, educated in England and came to the USA to as a business man.   Some how he decided the money lay in the music industry and  gathered men from wealthey family's to bust it wide open.

With help from associates and family's connections he came up with an off the board idea of forming a unorthodox band for music.    He tapped into the minds of those in the past, the Doors, Iron Butterfly BOC and the new Pirotecs for stage performance and how to get a huge stadium full of kids and curious adults and wow them.

Kiss opened up in New York after a blitz of adds and caused great interest in who they were and what the show was all about.     Building much mystery of what the band members really looked like with out that bizarre make up was a big part of the mystique.

Most likely the most successful selling of a business done in a short time we have yet to see.

Worked both ways, he and band members could move about the public and not be recognised and still have a huge stage presents.   Music all except Beth were hard driven and the decent into Hell with the flame throwing caused everyone to jump up and down.

So I myself have seen Kiss at least 7 times, with and without makeup.    The most beloved song after Detroit City was the Love Gun-----then Beth.  From the crowd.

Gene went on to make some wonderful movies, in one he played a Palestine terrorist.   Good actor.

I find it no surprise he  over Obama, just goes to show that even the smartest business man can be taken by those they underestimate .

Early life
Chaim Weitz (later Gene Simmons) was born at the Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel in 1949. Mother and child immigrated to Jackson Heights, Queens in New York City when he was eight years old.[1] His mother Flóra "Florence" Klein (formerly Kovács) was born in Jánd, Hungary.
