What brought you to CC?
« on: July 12, 2012, 07:29:28 PM »
This has probably been asked before. I may have even answered in a thread about it before, but here it is again.

How did you get to ConservativeCave?

For me it went like this (if I remember it all correctly)...

Either after W was elected in 2000 or during the run up to the election, I stumbled upon a site called Hollywood Halfwits while reading about some of the fruitloop celebs that was against Bush. I joined up. I even became a paying member. The Hollywood Halfwit site eventually became RightNation.

If I remember correctly some folks had gotten disenchanted with the way things were being handled at RightNation and started a forum called RightSociety. I got invited over there. RightSociety was an enjoyable place with good people. I was still a member at RightNation but mainly posted at RightSociety. Then I got banned from RightNation. It's the only place, not counting moles on DU, that has ever banned me.

Someone from RightSociety introduced me to Conservative Underground so I joined there. When RightSociety closed down Conservative Underground became my main hangout.

Conservative Underground was a great and entertaining place. Then the Ronulans invaded. And a crocodilian seemed to lose it. A friend invited me to Conservative Cave. It was fun and entertaining. It was kind of like what Conservative Underground was like when I first got there. I've been here ever since. I'm a member at a few other places that are good places with some good members, but for some reason most of my time seems to be at Conservative Cave.

I do want to take the opportunity to say that since SR and SaintLouieWoman took over Conservative Underground is back to being a good place. I don't post there, but I do visit often. They've done a great job over there. So two big thumbs up to SR and SLW.

I googled "conservative forums".

There was this one and CU.

So, I hung around and read some to get the feel for both of them.

CU was too....civil....for me.

So, I decided to come here and hang out with the other miscreants.

I had left our old home in the wake of the 2006 election and was hanging out in FR when franksolich sent me a private message letting me know about this place.

I had missed the whole Ronulan invasion and, just like a third arm, I didn't miss it.

I came over with Rebel and the "sex and booze" crowd from CU. All my faves, with only one or two exceptions, moved over here. Also, franksolich.

Similar story for me. I needed some ammo to beat up on the libs from my other online forum...Netfriction.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Thank you so much. SR and I enjoy coming here, too. There's room for more than one or 2 conservative sites. I came here to keep up with my old (and new) friends here.

Agreed! Kinda weird that I've been posting at CU for 8 years now. Obviously not as long as you, SR & several others. 8)

I was looking for sites that discussed politics.  I found DU first and this place second.  I like seeing what's happening, but can't stand TV.  When I read something of interest I can research it further.  I get great leads here.  That's originally why I found DU interesting.  Anything that gets them worked up is most often a good thing.

Back in the old Yahoo board days I ran into a poster named GoreBites.  S/he invited me to join CU.  At the time I didn't join, but did lurk.  From there I found FR and the DUmp, then CC.

I had been checking out conservative websites for quite a while, then hit upon Conservative Underground, and remained with it for years. However, I soon saw that most of the real action could be found here on Conservative Cave, so I joined this site. While there were some initial issues with the registration process or me, they eventually let me join, and I'm happy they did!

DrudgeReport link to Free Republic (which I didn't join) from which I found The Dummie Funnies and used to visit the DF website specifically (and laugh at DU).  After reading DF for several months, I found in the comments section a post by either Franksolich or Dumb Ass Tanker advertising CC sometime around Jan. 08 so I came over here, lurked for a bit and joined in March 08.

Moved here when CU had "issues".
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I think it was Traves who posted in the comments section of Newsbusters:

"Would you like to read the DemocraticUnderground without actually having to go there?  Go here:  CC link."

So I came here principally to keep an eye on the idiot liberals, but enjoy all the other sections as well.
