The thread is actually incidental. In Omaha Steve's state, there was an ad by Democrats denouncing GOP nominee Deb Fischer for accepting federal subsidies for her family's grazing lands.

Nebraska GOP Senate hopeful targeted in new ad
Source: KETV - Omaha

The Nebraska Democratic Party is targeting GOP U.S. Senate hopeful Deb Fischer in a new television ad that portrays her family's grazing leases on federal land as a welfare handout.

Democratic Party Chairman-elect Vince Powers on Monday unveiled a new statewide television ad that accuses Fischer of benefiting from a deal that less than 1 percent of Nebraska ranchers receive.

My only question: Was she drug tested prior to receiving welfare?

Hardee-har-har. While conservatives and libertarians may indeed have issues with federal disbursements for such reasons, and in fact I'm not actually dissing the ad as I consider it fair (though misguided), I have decided to illustrate the DUmpmonkey response sequence.

Enter Archae with his sly setup (is he a troll? LOL)

1. I just wonder is this fair?

Has Deb Fischer made any issues about welfare?

I know that politics is a contact sport, but it makes us look like prize hypocrites if we resrt to dirty politics.

WE know the hypocrisy involved, but after a couple of reasonable replies (by DU standards), the DUmpmonkeys start howling...

In fact, being fair to a Republican can only be managed by being unfair and even vicious in the treatment meted out to it. It cannot possibly count as just desserts otherwise....

6. That's the loser mentality.

This is life and death now. By hook or by crook. When was the last time they were fair or barred any holds? If we have to lie cheat or steal to get people to vote for their own interests, then we must.

If you play by the rules and your opponent will do anything, you'll never win.

I hate that it's this way but it is this way.

So it's out there. THEY realize that it's "life and death" and will protect their interests "by hook or by crook."

Finally...

4. I don't like dirty politics, but Dems need to start playing to emotions like the cons do

If welfare and tax = bad, then tie their hypocritical ships to it. Play it like it is. This is a hand out, welfare, entitlement for someone...and isn't that all bad stuff to these nuts? We need more Dems in Congress and in office. If this is what it takes, go for it.

LOL... it's amusing who's being emotional about this. So they advocate lying to the people to get their votes.

THIS IS DU AT ITS MOST HONEST. EVERY STINKIN' ONE OF THEM (who aren't trolls).

You want to compare political ads? How about that little lie your side used against Goldwater about him starting a nuclear war back in the 60's just for a start.

The democrat party has always been of the ilk that the ends justify the means. We need to adopt these same policies or lose the country.

We need to find sealed divorces of donks and open them, like they do. We need to lie, cheat, and steal to win elections. This is war and if we lose it will be the end of freedom and liberty in this country and soon the world without the USA.

We need to do any and all the things they do +1 and after winning we can go back to being nice.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I constantly find it funny they believe the MSM and how their Dem leaders conduct themselves all play against them.  Their leaders say and do some of the most nasty and disgusting things and the MSM is always in their corner.  Of course, these are the same idiots who are so far left I'm sometimes convinced they view Noam Chomsky and Gore Vidal as RWers.

We don't need to lie, we simply need to tell the truth.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Yeah, if it were a perfect world or even the world of 30 years ago but it is not. A good smear will do the trick for way too many voters. All tools should be used because you know that the democrats will use them all.

I agree with them, in fact, but in reverse. The cost of an Obama re-election is too high. He has to be stopped, and that means sinking as low as a Dem and lower if need be.

It's always odd that the primatives like to use "if we" and "when we", as if what they describe, is something "new" to them.
DUmpmonkeys are deluding themselves again.

Something of interest that teh Bun, posted earlier. :-)

The Little Blue Book: The Essential Guide to Thinking and Talking Democratic, by George Lakoff and Elisabeth Wehling (Free Press, $11)
George Lakoff, Professor of Cognitive Science and Linguistics at U.C. Berkeley — and highly regarded Democratic tactician — has just released his playbook for the 2012 election. Titled The Little Blue Book: The Essential Guide to Thinking and Talking Democratic, it purports to be the ultimate insiders’ guide to liberal messaging and left-wing ideology.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

You'd think if they were truly interested in what's best for everyone (since we're a big glop of sameness and all of us want and need exactly what they want) that they could convince us on the strength of their argument. Of course they've been trying to figure out the right way to frame the narrative since Woodrow Wilson was president, but still, they and their ideas are superior. If we're stupid then a simple "welfare good, jobs bad" or "choosing your health care bad, single payer good". Maybe it's not the narrative. It's kinda pathetic, though, they're completely incapable of considering other ideas or understanding people aren't the same and they want choices as individual as they are. Being that they're the minority, maybe they should find themselves a little island paradise. They could call it Monolithic Island.
