"What's your solution then?" Here's a start:
1 - Abolish ALL corporations. Get rid of all corporation, whether privately head or publicly held. Turn each corporation over to the workers of that corporation and let it be run collectively, by the workers. If the ex-owners want any part of that corporation, they have to work for it, not sit on their asses and collect money.

If the corporation is merely a shell, like Bain Capital, for example, then take all the capital and distribute it to the ex-corporations, now collectives, it held.

2 - Disarm all police. This does not mean to leave them defenseless, just seize their guns and leave them with non-lethal weapons.

3 - Take the land that Big Ag owns and seize it. Give it to the workers who farm the land. Again, if the owners want any part of the land, they must work it alongside the others.

4 - Compulsory State Education from Kindergarten to Sophomore year in college. This is much more like the European system, and it creates a smarter populace. The smarter the workforce, the better. Abolish home schooling and private schools.

5 - Empty the prisons and assign them work in one of the many collectives. If they steal, murder, rob, etc, it is the job of the collective to punish them and sequester them in a humane manner.

6 - Absolute Freedom of Speech of all kinds. Criticism is necessary for a functioning state, and a state cannot progress without it.

7 - Abolish or greatly scale back the military. Reduce it by at least 90% if it is to be kept. Leave a National Guard and that's it.

8 - Set up unemployed people's collectives, so that they can work together to produce food for themselves and the community.

9 - Absolute Freedom of Religion of all kinds. Again, criticism is necessary. Encourage churches, synagogues, mosques and temples to help rebuild the state.

10 - Abolish all drug laws. This is a health problem, not a criminal one.

About as deep as you can dig in a single pass with a front end loader.

6 feet down is too good for them. IMO even a shallow ditch and a couple spades worth of manure is an unaffordable luxury.
