Personally, I do not care which president a soldier died under. Does not mean anything nor makes that soldier's death more or less important. They gave their lives for this country, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for them. It is people like them that make this country as great as it is.
I have noticed ever since Obama took office that the running death count that had become so popular under Bush has seemed to all but vanished. Under Bush, virtually every night on the mainstream news they told us what the casualty rate of the war was, even building up every symbolic number.
These days? Not so much.
In fact, under Obama, I rarely hear any news at all coming out of Afghanistan. It is as if the war suddenly disappeared. We all know this decision and selected news coverage is political, but disgusts me to some degree that our news agencies would use the death of soldiers and a body count as some form of political pawns.
