Obama Campaign Announces New Fund-Raiser
Washington DC - Today President Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign announced a new marketing fund-raiser. In an effort to further grow its war chest a new line of patriotic merchandise if being offered to supporters.
In what may seem to be miniscule fragments of browning, aged paper are in fact scraps of the original US Constitution signed by the nation's founding fathers. Each scrap has been individually sealed in a 6" by 6" block of lucite, suitable for desktop display.
"We think it's great that our supporters will be able to own a piece of American history," said deputy campaign manager Jillian Smoot.
She said the idea for the product line was the inspiration of the President himself after he had been informed that it was in fact legal for the Republicans to mount an electoral challenge to his administration.
"He just walked right in to the National Archives and then the next thing we knew we had this terrific opportunity."
As soon as the merchandise was launched virtually the entire GOP constituency condemned the move.
Ms. Smoot countered, "They're just jealous they didn't think of it first."
