I just returned from a rare trip to the movies.

These days, I have quit going to movies due to the fact none of the movies showing in the theatres now interest me in the least. Except for one.
But I have been waiting patiently for this one, and it delivered everything that the original did, plus a little more. I'm trying not to give too many details away, because I'd rather not spoil anything for those who have not seen it yet. I really wish I'd re-read the book first, though.
However, I do have some criticisms regarding the film.

There was far too much Matrix-style slow-motion action in the battle scenes (which were incredible, btw) which caused it to be far more dramatic than it needed to be.
Plus, there was a character in the movie that I found rather irritating, because I felt they took away from the storyline. I won't name the character, but those of you who may have seen already it know who I'm referring to.
