Well, once again, we the people have lost.

Sure, the ruling by the Supreme Court was a political win, Obama's biggest legislative initiative is upheld, a solid victory for him and the Democrats.

But this is an even bigger win for the insurance industry. They have now been officially granted a mandated monopoly, one that forces people to buy a product that they may or may not need, from a for profit corporation. Worse, the price controls are weak, very weak.

So what we're going to see in the end result is the middle and working classes are going to get drained of money at an even faster rate. The poor are, thankfully, going to get a subsidy, but there is no such relief, nor cost control, to help and protect the middle and working class.

Worse yet, this is going to set back the true goal of single payer, non-profit universal health care back by a generation or more. The corporately controlled Democrats and Republicans aren't going to touch any sort of health care reform for decades, not after this battle.

Furthermore, the precedent that this sets is abominable. Today we are forced to buy insurance from a for profit corporation, what will be forced to buy next?

But hey, go ahead and celebrate. It is, after all a political victory for the Democrats. The Dems took a Republican policy, made it their own, and made it the law of the land.

But in a few years, as insurance premiums soar, perhaps you will come to realize this decision for what it truly is, a huge loss for the American people.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

It may mean something in November!

LOL I was wondering when they'd realize that about insurance companies. Oh and the tax will effect 75% of people making under $250,000 a year ie the middle class :lmao:

When you finally peal back the layers deep enough, every single bill put forth by the democrat party is a tax bill.

In case any DUchebag is wondering what business, particularly small business  will do now? Stop hiring, stop thoughts of hiring, look at ways to trim payroll, and look for more friendly countries to operate in.

In case any DUchebag is wondering what doctors will do now? Many will retire. A portion of them will look at moving out of country. Many young people in pre-med will have second thoughts and change their career path.

In case any DUchebag is wondering what the middle class will do now? Many will just drop out as it no longer makes sense to work. Productive middle class people will be retiring early as working as it no longer makes sense to work.

In case any DUchebag is wondering what entrepreneurs will do now? Many will retire. many will move to better business friendly countries. The largest number will not start businesses that hire people.

These are features and not bugs as far as big government totalitarians are concerned.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

No socialist scheme has ever borne-out as it was described on paper. It has always spelled doom for the socialists.

I see no reason to believe this monstrosity should prove different.

These idiots don't know what they're cheering. They may as well be frog's muscles stretched out on the lab table getting a 9v shock.

The Right is now more determined than ever to elect Romney and give congress to the GOP. Hell, maybe even FR will come to its senses. It also puts Romney on notice to not dick-around and the Tea Party has more clout than ever.

If ReBamaLosi couldn't get 60 senators and only a bare minimum in the House how will they look now?

And the economy will now officially stall going into the election. EXHIBIT A: The DJIA

$1.7 TRILLION in new taxes? Good luck running on that AND wanting to usher in Taxageddon January 2013.

These ****ing idiots are...

...idiots.

The last Communists to find out that Communism was a REALLY bad f'n idea were the Communist commoners who supported it.

That's it - right there.

The end result of this is the end of Obama, because not only do we have the crap he has done already working against him, Obama has now had an official, USSC certified, 'Read my lips - No New Taxes' moment that he can get pounded with until he is out of office.

Don't get me wrong, I am annoyed this decision went the way it did -BUT the way it went is far worse for team Obama than it is for us.

The way it stands now, Obama now needs to explain the GIGANTIC middle class tax increase he insisted would never happen-especially during a recession.

There were two other ways it could have gone - both of which Obama could have used.

a) 100% Constitutional. - Really bad for us - Extremely good for them.

b) 100% Unconstitutional - Great for us - but it would give Obama a great big election wedge issue to level attacks against "the rich white republicans taking grandma's medicine away".

and the way it fell :

c) Constitutional if a tax - Annoying for us - but taxes can be repealed. Really annoying for them because Obama has just broken his biggest promise - no tax increases on anyone making less than 250K a year, during a recession & an upcoming election.

All its gonna take is Romney to get in front of this and stay there, and the election is his. If his response team continues to be as effective as they have been, I suspect a new campaign spot banging Obama's massive tax increase by tomorrow morning.

As I said when this originally came out, Obama has lost the election as of today.  The tax increases need to be pounded on over and over.  Then, we can talk about an abortion tax, starting at $5,000 and going upwards based on income level. :evillaugh:

Romney needs to pound away how this is a tax, and who this tax is really going to effect.

Oh, STFU, you whiney POS.  I could take it if you were gloating today, but you have to be a whiney little bitch.  And you wonder why more people aren't liberal.  Even when you win, you're never happy.

I suspect they have realized a few things about their hollow victory -

A ) Bigass middle-class tax increase during an election year.
B ) Paying the tax for being uninsured doesn't get one insured. The only way to get insured is to buy into a genuine program.
C ) Their hope for 'single payer' has been pushed even further back in this ruling.
D ) Requirements for states to be forced to participate in health exchanges gone.
