Romney's running mate. Rubio?
« on: June 26, 2012, 01:13:46 PM »
There is a lot of speculation that Romney will chose Rubio as his running mate (although it isn't set in stone yet, and no one really knows who he will pick. But all the news outlets seem to feel that Rubio is in the forefront). Do you think that will help him, or hurt him?

The reason I ask this is because Romney has to chose a good and legit Running mate. Someone who will help his get elected.

It will help him in FL.  Maybe a couple of other states.  I was hoping Susanna Martinez, the governor of NM, but she's nowhere nearly as well-known.  You'd have to be living in a cave to not know who Marco Rubio is.

Yeah, I was thinking that it will help him in Florida as well. I can just imagine what the liberals will do if he does chose him. I Hope, if he does chose Rubio, it works out for him.

Probably Rubio. But I'm going to guess Rand Paul as a dark horse.

God alone suffices.

Rubio said on Hannity that Romney was not vetting him.

Romney said last week that he was.

That would be a good match and Rubio would certainly help him in FL and several other states. I betcha the Democrats are praying that Mitt picks someone else.

I thought Rubio said he wasn't interested.

Do ya think that the Romney campaign let slip who they have tapped prior to the convention in August?

Probably not.  They only do that if the campaign is circling the bowl like McLame had to.

Rubio is young and if Romney needs Rubio to carry Florida hes probably not going to win anyways. I think its going to be Portman

I've heard whispers to that effect too. I also agree that if Romney needs Rubio to carry Florida hes probably not going to win.I also believe that if he picks a flavor of the day politician as a VP candidate he more than likely can't win.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

That is what I meant when I said he needs to pick a good and legitimate running mate. His running mate choice will have a huge effect on whether he gets elected or not. I think Portman would be a good choice as well, as well as Scott Walker.

One of the things that upset me recently is that Santorum said that he won't take a job in the Romney administration if asked. I was hoping that he would be picked for Attorney General. But I also have to give him some props, as he wants to be with his brave little daughter, bless her heart.

I'd be cool with Rubio, but given that he says he hasn't been vetted for it, which takes some time like any thorough background check, and there isn't a huge amount of time until the convention, that isn't looking like what will happen.  The good part of that would be keeping Rubio's Senate seat in known and trusted hands, at least.

Look above at the video I posted. Romney said that he is thoroughly vetting him.

I do not understand why conservatives fall for rumors and or lies put out by the liberal media. Take what you hear with a grain of salt.

As it stands, Repubs do NOT have Fl in the bag. Rubio would be a game changer there and for other states also. He would be Obama's worst nightmare because of the minority voters that would be attracked to the Repub ticket.

I don't doubt this at all, but let's be real -- ALL potential candidates should be thoroughly vetted. Rubio, if he's part of the overall mix, could well be one of 15 potential candidates. Rubio might even make the short list in which case the investigators should be digging really, really deep to find out all the skeletons in the closets -- and you'd better believe there will something there that the Dems would pounce on in order to make Rubio look like a crook, liar, cheat, scoundrel, and douchebag.

But none of that is a guarantee that he'd be selected.

I hear he short changed his gradeschool cafeteria on at least two occasions.

lol. Pretty damning evidence of that in the Yearbook, I'm sure.

Here's some faux dirt:

http://ricochet.com/main-feed/Reuters-Fabricates-Damaging-Facts-About-Marco-Rubio

And apparently having a friend and sticking by that friend creates all sorts of problems for Rubio. David Rivera, a Florida Congressman and good friend of Rubio's, was investigated by the Florida attorney general's office and while the investigation was later dropped due to lax campaign finance laws and statute of limitations having elapsed, the 172-page report that came out of it was "uncomfortable" for Rivera.

Rubio sticks by his friend.

That right there might be the only thing the Dems can come up with on Rubio. Besides your story about him short-changing in the lunch line in grade school.   :-)
