This was on Darrell Issa's facebook page.

Quote
TURNING UP THE FAST & FURIOUS HEAT ON OBAMA: Darrell sent President Obama a scathing letter today on his assertion of executive privilege over the documents related to Fast & Furious that Congress has been trying to get - and lawfully subpoenaed - for well over a year. Issa to Obama: "Your privilege assertion means one of two things. Either you or your most senior advisors were involved in managing Operation Fast & Furious and the fallout from it, including the false February 4, 2011 letter provided by the Attorney General to the Committee, or, you are asserting a Presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation. To date, the White House has steadfastly maintained that it has not had any role in advising the Department with respect to the congressional investigation. The surprising assertion of executive privilege raised the question of whether that still is the case." Check out http://FastAndFuriousInvestigation.com/ for more information and stay tuned...

I strongly feel that Obama is involved in it.

Looks like a few Repubs are getting brave enough to publically question Obama and Holders honesty. It is about time to put the hammer down on these two liars.

I agree, Lacarnut. I am glad the Republicans are finally getting a spine.

Bonehead needs to go. I hope he gets voted out of the speaker's position. I just do not want to witness another crying jag.

Nah, I don't think so. I think Barry is just trying to protect his asshole buddy Holder, largely because F&F was so ****ed up on so many levels that Holder's pencil-whipping failed to even question that program.

That points toward monumental incompetency to the point that Barry feels he needs to exert the power of his office in order to deflect any attempt made toward getting the documents that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Holder is not worth the powder to blow him to hell.

But problem there is that O put himself in an untenable position. Either he admits he was involved in F&F, with the attendant charges of accessory before the fact in the murder of two federal agents, or he admits to using the EP erroneously in order to obstruct Congress. Either way screams impeachment to me...

Rumor is, as many as 30 "Ds" are going to vote for contempt.  If that happens, I think, for the first time, we will see what happens when someone actually snatches a knot in someones ass. And we'll get a twofer.

If 30 Democrats vote for contempt, Obama and liberals, especially the media, will have a hard time stating that this was nothing but partisan politics.

Striking down Obamacare and a large vote for contempt charges against a racist AG in the same day will definitely be a twofer.

Good point.  The twofer I was referring to was that both Holdem & ABM will get knots snatched in their asses, since ABM inserted himself by declaring privilege. I guess that would be a threefer.

The only untenable position, IMHO, is Barry's careless and flip way he attempts to use EP. The political fallout from that carelessness will go much farther with Congress' disassociation with Barry than any attempt made to impeach him.

This does not fall under "high crimes and misdemeanors" in my view -- UNLESS he was directly involved with the cover-up, which I sincerely doubt. Holder's involvement with a cover-up is doubtful too, because these ****sticks are all about "plausible deniability". It's their first reaction to any crisis -- "How can I deal with this and not officially know a damned thing about it?" The usual answer is to find an underling who is expendable and tag him/her with the responsibility of getting the issue "fixed".

Tricky Dick tried that shit and it blew up in his face, because he'd forgotten about the surreptitious taping that was going on.

Very early in his administration, didn't Obama tell his people to put nothing in writing?

Nixon and Clinton both were impeached for obstruction of justice, which is using illegal means to stop a legitimite investigation (perjury for BJ, intimidation/payoffs for Nixon). Seems to me, fraudulently using EP should fall under obstruction of justice as well, based upon my limited understanding of the USSC's decision in United States v. Nixon..

Umm, not quite.

Nixon was not impeached. He resigned before the articles of impeachment were drawn up -- and I think it's fair to say that there was no question that he would've been impeached and that, in all likelihood, he would've been convicted in the Senate.

Clinton was, in fact, impeached - the first president since Andrew Johnson. But the Senate failed to convict him in the resulting trial.
