Limbaugh has been a mainstay on the CBS owned station in Philadelphia for at least 20 years.
Today he was replaced by Michael Smerconish with the intro "forget the anger, reason is back".
I called the station manager to confirm that it was in fact a permanent and to congratulate him on his public service.

This is one station, but it is a major market that is replacing hate speech one
program at a time. Hannity was dropped last year.

Of course it is all about money and proof that the boycott worked.

I could be mistaken, but I thought they were crowing about this a few weeks ago, and it turned out that he moved to another station.

But, but, but, the Rush boycott worked.  And, I'd love to see the #'s for some of the advertisers that bailed.  I used to use Pro Flowers and Shari's Berries at least a couple of times per year, but no more.

A related note: those stations that picked up Huckabee as a Rush competitor have not seen the ratings they were expecting either.

The station that plays Huckabee here has him on @ 6:00pm, right after Hannity.  They used to have Dennis Miller on at that time.

Doesn't look like it has anything to do with being with Rush or not (there was actually a share price uptick from early March to April, when all this went down with the advertisers), but it looks like Carbonite at least is toast. They're on a not-so-slow slide to the pennies. I sure as hell would never have used them anyway--like I'm going to give all my files to a bunch of strangers! The whole idea was stupid. People should just back up their own hard drives.

Yay!!  Just listened to Beck and Rush on FM here (had some errands to run at lunch) on 106.9 WWIQ, operating out of Fishtown (Philly) and Camden -- GREAT signal!!  I'm so psyched . . . I was having to try to get 770 AM from NYC and that's pretty iffy this far down in South Jersey.  Beck is on 9 to noon, then Rush noon to 3, then Hannity 3-6.

Woo-hoo, my new favorite station!  :yahoo:
