Well, I'm stumped. Sorry :-)

Consider two premises:

1. She claims to possess a keen sense of smell.
2. Struan is eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich

Hmm, I hadn't thought of either of those as being particularly pungent.  I was more thinking that she seemed to see a large amount of detail in the dark.

They have a very distinctive odor when you put them together.

So she's lying about her smelling abilities?

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Yes.

If she had such a keen sense of smell (at least enough to detect acetylene), she would have been able to pinpoint the kind of sandwich Struan was eating.

Okay, this one went clearly over my head because I don't find peanut butter/banana sandwiches that pungent. Unless the person breathes all over your face.

Not necessarily pungent, just distinctive.

Yeah, but was he sitting on top of her? Ha! I think Chloris was the welder, yeah, a dude who looks like a lady and he/she made the whole thing up!  :evillaugh:
