Don asks a simple enough question, disregarding 2008 when there was an election, with the inauguration following in Jan 2009.

Do you have any wealthy friends or family who this Bush recession has hurt?

But along comes a DUmmy who wants to throw some honesty into the ring.

1. Be honest please, theres blame enough to go all around.
I was struggling before said Bush was in office. Still am.

And then the truth comes out.  Don has been in dire straits since 1980, but wants to blame his misfortune on Bush anyway.

That honest enough for you?
Don

I suspect some faulty decision making on Don's part may be the cause.  Or laziness.
This too shall pass.

32 ****ing years?

I'd be ashamed to admit I was that much of a loser.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Sucking off the public teat, is not a matter of shame to a DUmpmonkey.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

What Don did was exit his career with the exact skillset that he entered with, right after high school.  There, protected by the union, he sailed along on the Good Ship Status Quo, learning no new marketable skills with which to climb a ladder of sorts.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, sure, grouchy old Don's been "suffering" since 1980.

Like Hell he has.

Grouchy old Don started off on the assembly line of a place that manufactures automobiles right out of high school, in 1971.  He was a proud member of the UAW, and a thug for the Democrat party machine in Chicago.

The 1970s were a lousy decade, especially the last half of it.  Grouchy old Don, then being a green young man with hardly any seniority in his union, got temporarily laid off various times, but stuck with it until he had crept up the ladder of seniority a bit, say circa 1981.

After which all was strawberries-and-cream for grouchy old Don.

After getting thirty years on the assembly line under his belt, grouchy old Don retired with a full union pension.

This was probably about 2003, 2004, subtracting those brief lay-offs during the Carter Administration from that 30-years'-service requirement.

Grouchy old Don is now 59 years old.

His pension is pretty flat, but local and Cook County property taxes are skyrocketing under the machine, and inflation is skyrocketing under the Magic One.

Grouchy old Don's now concerned about how he's going to make it on his pension now.

I suppose that's a reasonable concern, but this is grouchy old Don here, who since 1971 has voted to support corrupt machine politics, figuring if he took care of the machine, the machine'd take care of him.

So while one's heart goes out to those oppressed by corruption and high taxes in Chicago, in Cook County, in Illinois, franksolich has only a raspberry for grouchy old Don.  Tough shit; you voted for it, Don.

Suffer.

What irritates me about grouchy old Don is that he always associates Ronald Reagan with the bad times of the 1970s, and Jimmy Carter with the good times of the 1980s.

Grouchy old Don's pretty old, but he's not that old; he still remembers who was who, and when was when.

He does it on purpose--flat out lies on purpose--hoping that the other primitives don't notice the historical inaccuracy.

And actually, that's a pretty good ruse, too, as the primitives don't know shit about anything that happened longer ago than last week.

With their drug-addled minds, maybe the primitives think that grouchy old Don's brain is the same way.
