if he would have only said "I think it's a good idea, but honestly I don't think it goes far ENOUGH".

Think about it.  If the program Obama put into place on Friday is basically the same as Marco Rubio's version of the Dream Act, then Romney would not and could not be seen as wavering if he had ripped it right out of Obama's hand in that fashion.

As far as the notion of it not going far enough, promise the world!  After the election, there's no rule that says you actually have to ACT on your campaign promises.

As proof supporting the above paragraph, I give you one Barack Obama.

Now how ever would you expect them to get re-elected if you held them to that?

There's an easy way around that:  Codify Rubio's Dream Act and convince the idiots you've done something.

The economy, which is SURE to be better under Romney than under Obama will take care of the reelection issue.

What makes you think that Americans actually WANT the DREAM ACt or anything like it?

Don't you remember what happened the last couple times this was done?

Who are the "idiots" you're talking about? Democrats? Republicans? Liberals? Conservatives? Hispanics? Non-Hispanics?

Hi,

I disagree with both Obama and Romney on this one.  The issue is the Constitution.  Romney should have said laws are made by congress, not presidential edict when he cannot get a bill passed he wants.  If Romney had just stuck with abuse of presidential power he would have been on point and it would resonate a lot better than his sorry answer.
