What's left of her hair appears to be greasy enough to ignite at the slightest spark. She needs to invest in a helmet, or maybe some shampoo.
It is expensive for the paid fire department personal as well.
Every year or so we have some kind of benefit to raise money to buy thermal imaging equipment --- I think that is what it is called ---- to find people in a smoke filled home. A couple years ago a wealthy person left enough money to 6-7 towns to buy rescue equipment for pets who had inhaled smoke.
I know nothing about firefighting but what I read or see on TV and one term stuck in my head, the fire is some times called the BEAST. Good and well named term.
I have little idea just how this works for volunteers, some times we run into one and they have a beeper on them, when the beeper goes off if at work the employer has to allow that person to leave immediately.
So when one calls for an ambulance some times the fire department gets there first. Why the fire department goes to
the scene of a cardiac event or anything not involving fire I do not know. [ Please someone fill me in here ]
I have noticed that most fire houses do not have a Dalmatian to guard the truck, a shame, in case of an apartment house fire and dozens of kids in shock a fire dog seems to calm them and the adults some what.
Symbolism is strong, we have Smokey the bear, our Donkey and Elephant, our Bald Headed Eagle, Now the Bison.
Where did the fire house dog go to ?????
