I didn't look for deductions which may exist, but it seems like they tax the lower income earners more than here.

ZERO BONG. I looked into that in 1982 and one had to have a skill and a job offer in a field that Australia needed or you had to put up a $20K bond.

I'm not sure why I'm supposed to be pissed. So someone else has a higher minimum wage. But then, I don't get jealous over what other people have. Your problem is you're never satisfied with what you have. That's really the key to happiness. Not that you shouldn't strive for more and work hard (I know, an oxymoron in DUmmieland), but I have a great life right now...love my family, love my friends, enjoy bountiful hobbies, do work that I love and don't worry about who has more. There will always be rich (0bama, Trumka, Jarrett, Kerry, every Kennedy on the planet, Pelosi, etc.) and there will always be poor (the slaves you've relegated to your inner city plantation who get handouts instead of "hope & change", waiting endlessly for money from 0bama's stash), there will always be people in the middle and people in between all the extremes. Under a communist regime, the leaders have money, same for pure socialist, same for the entrenched leadership here...Reid and Biden got rich in the senate, go figure. Hell, Pelosi has shaped legislation that benefited her husband's business ON PURPOSE and it's perfectly legal. Look at all the money floating around Hollywood...they grace you with their presence and spew the right words and run back to their gated communities and you say practically nothing because you're so gullible you think they really care about the same things you do.

But think about this DUmmies (I'm going to shout here so you'll see it): EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE RICH ROCK STARS, ACTORS, CORPORATE WHORES LIKE BILL GATES, WARREN BUFFET & PETER LEWIS ARE WELCOME TO SEND THE GOVERNMENT WHATEVER PORTION THEY THINK THEY SHOULD BE PAYING. I just looked up nursing salaries in Australia, and apparently nursing salaries are set by the state and are based on experience.  A new nurse makes around $42,000 a year, only about $10,000 more than minimum wage. The salary goes up about $2000 a year after that. 

Britain is another place where the salaries for nurses are significantly less than they are in the US.  Funny how that happens with socialized health care...

I don't know about you, but I'm not going to school for a BSN to make only $10,000 a year more than I would at minimum wage.  Apparently they do have automatic overtime for weekend work though, which would be nice  :-)
