Why you lost in Wisconsin last night
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:27:18 PM »
You can sit there and be bitter and cry and try to make up excuses in your head as to why you lost, you can blame "not getting the message out" you can blame "Walker having more money" you can blame "voter fraud" you can blame "Obama for not coming to Wisconsin", but at what point are you going to be honest with yourselves?

First, you complain about not getting the message out? seriously? you had so many union members going around having a 1 year tantrum, you got your message out, it just didn't resonate with Wisconsinites and Americans in general. You don't get that Americans are hurting, you're in denial about unemployment, in denial about Americans overall misery, you're so obsessed with Obama and the D that you just don't see what's going on around you.

Let's look at the money issue now. The Unions spent 35 million dollars just to defeat the labor reforms Walker proposed last year, how much did they throw at their failed Democratic recall candidate? about 8 million dollars? so right there you're looking at over 40 million dollars from unions so far, actually it's members money that was used, so conservatives start a grassroots effort to raise money for Walker. Your complaint doesn't hold water at all, and sorry to say you're coming off as whiny and as poor sports.

Voter Fraud? really? not from the right, this reeks of desperation, if anything you should be worried about the number of signatures on the recall petition that are actually fraudulent, the numbers don't bear out compared to the results.

Now let's look at those complaining about Obama not coming to Wisconsin, at what point will you realize he's a narcissist? he has no loyalty at all towards other Democrats, he's out for himself, he doesn't care about you, all he cares about is your money and your vote, that's it. How many candidates has he stood with who've lost? too many, he learned his lesson, he isn't going to put his reputation at stake just to make you feel better.

Now to my personal opinion overall. Those who identify themselves as left are just 20% of the people, conservatives are 40%, about 35% identify themselves as moderate. Your problem is this, you're so insulated as far as opinions go, you basically surround yourselves with people who have the same opinions of you, you can't understand that the majority of people don't agree with your opinion, and instead of recognizing that you mock those who don't feel the way you do. You show an affinity with those who view the States between California and New York as flyover Country, not even thinking or worse yet, caring, that you insult those people. Did you even know that the largest Union in Wisconsin lost half their membership when the opt out clause was enacted in Wisconsin? Like I said above, you don't see that people are hurting at all, because to see that people are hurting would mean you'd have to question everything you've been told, to question everyone you believed in, to question everything you've believed to be true.

You need to get out of your bubbles, you need to start interacting with others, you need to accept that they have and are entitled to their opinions, and it's not your job to show them what you perceive is the truth, because to do that just shows how little an opinion you have of those people.

I went to a picnic the other day, a couple of people were Obama voters, I knew it because a couple of things they said that I overheard. The time came to sit down and eat and we were just chit chatting, now do you think I made a big deal about the few things I overheard them talk about? absolutely not, it was a nice casual occasion and it wouldn't of been inappropriate, and our chit chatting turned into an awesome conversation that covered a number of things that didn't involve politics, there was so much laughter at our table that a few people came over to sit down. We had a great time and it was politics free. I didn't let their opinions get in the way of a good time, and they had a great time too not talking politics. You see, there can be civility amongst those with opposing opinions. Heck, if CC ever had a picnic and some of you from DU were invited (only some because there are others who are just plain miserable) and decided to come? I have no doubt we'd all have a blast. Politics isn't everything, and if you give yourself the chance and the leeway? maybe a smile would be possible to get out of you.

My goodness, you are just far too sweet for words, Bally.  I wouldn't pee in their mouths if their teeth were on fire personally, much less even entertain inviting them to a picnic.

Really a good point here, one I don't really see hammered enough.  The dems might find themselves backed into a little bit of a corner this election with the current narcissist and the previous one (Clinton) on the campaign trail.  Clinton is still wildly popular and has already gone on his own path more than once while ostensibly stumping for Obama.  So now we have a situation where Obama cares only about himself (and is gonna look real cute going to Wisconsin a few months saying "Hi! I'm back!  I know I didn't do a damn thing for ya even though I talked about walking picket lines in comfortable shoes but it's time to vote for me!").  His main political ally, Bill Clinton, appears to have his own agenda which isn't necessarily coinciding with Obama's.  And a vice-president who is pathetic, and not even endearingly pathetic, just out and out lame.

Topped with the doings in California last night, this election is shaping up to be oodles more interesting than I ever thought it would.

When I was at CU, My wife and I met with a couple of folks who were on DU.  We had dinner, talked about things other than politics, and became friendly acquaintances.  I never expected them to change their political views, as that was never the point of meeting each other.

Comfortable shoes with low mileage. It seems clinnochio senses weakness in the anointed one, and subtly is undermining him. That type of thing or worse has happened to people who got in the way of the Clintons.

Hi 5 from me too Bally, spectacularly well written and organized, but in my heart and guts I know they're far too embittered to ever listen to reason. They--the 20% you're talking about--know what they know and that's all they need to know, as far as they're concerned. And they hate us far more than we could ever hate them, even with all the damage and harm they've done to our country; you've read their bile, and the DUmmeis ARE represenative of that 20%'s attitudes.

Let's face it: that 20% is nothing less than a 5th column. Everything they stand for is sick and a great deal of it is consciously designed to destroy the US. There's no middle ground with them on policy, and I wouldn't want to occupy that middle ground, where all our common sense and Constitutional principles are diluted by their twisted, sick ideas. Add a tablespoonful of sewage to a barrel of fine wine and you have a barrel of sewage.

I work with some insane libs, who could easily be DUmmies, and of course I joke around with them and never discuss politics. But that doesn't mean we really have any common ground with them where our country is concerned, and that's a pretty big item.
