Well, this is scary.  A conservative blogger (actually, many conservative bloggers have been talking about this) was jailed this morning for violating a "peace order" in Maryland.  Convicted criminal Brett Kimberlin makes it his business to file lawsuit after lawsuit against anyone who dares talk about his criminal history and he's targeting some of our favorite conservative bloggers.

I heard all about this asshole on Beck the other day. If Im not mistaken the guy in jail was one of the guests on Beck's show.

He's right up there with Bill Ayres - he served 17 years in prison for the Speedway bombing in Indianapolis in 1978.   While he was in prison he earned his law degree and on our dime.  Isn't it wonderful?

He runs a nonprofit called Justice Through Music.   One of his comrades is one of the heroes of our friends at DU, Brad Friedman of the infamous Bradblog.com. 

He is apparently funded in part through the Tides Foundation. 

This big mean bully is 5'5". 

Oh, and Erick Erickson reported the SWAT team was dispatched to his house on Sunday after writing about him on Friday.

It's kind of funny that the sooper genius left that does this kind of thing never stops to think about the long term consequences and ramifications.  By that I mean they never bother to think of what may happen to them for their actions.  You don't harass and tear down a normal, civilized human being without having blowback.  Other normal, civilized human beings don't tolerate bullies very well or for very long without taking action.  Shining the bright light of day on cockroaches is a wonderful and noble thing; it should be done in every single fashion, every single day. 

However, when you decide to make war against a man who is expressing his thoughts, you are opening yourself to all kinds of retribution against which extreme arrogance and elitism will neither save nor prepare you. 

Taking away an honest man's ability to live his life in peace and support his family is a motivating factor that will breed a deep, boiling rage that can manifest itself in such a way that the cowards who push him end up regretting they ever tried.  Once you take away everything a good man has worked for, you give him nothing left to lose.  Mr. Kimberlin and his associates would do well to remember that.

On top of what this Kimberlin character is doing, I would say this is what Barack Obama and the democrats are doing to millions of people.

Okay, I guess I'm very naive but I don't see how this is possible. Is free speech no longer a first amendment right? Who is this judge? Is he a leftist? If this guy can be arrested for a blog then any one of us can be arrested for anything...this guy is a nobody, but the judge is the government. This pretty much smacks at too much power. I swear I'd want to sue the judge.

Fox News did run a story on it during the day but that's all I saw about it.  I thought for sure Bill O'Reilly would pick up on it.
