I sometimes just want to get the actual jurors in question and grab their ears and make them look.

JURY RESULTS

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Rather than hide the post, educate the poster with these words, "This is a stereotyped, bigoted attack on two fronts.
on a woman, as being motivated by sexual frustration
on a religious/ethnic group/nationality, with the outrageous suggestion that women in the United Arab Emirates are "forbidden to talk, wear clothing other than a burqua, etc."
Please educate yourself, poster; there is a world outside your backyard with real people in it -- women in the UAE have higher literacy rates than men, are active in business and go to university at astounding rates, and there is even a woman subway driver -- see e.g. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/anne-izzillo/united-arab-emirates_b_1522362.html

So, listen up, jurors.

Stop ****ing telling alerters to post their objections in the thread.

If a post is a violation of some standard, it is YOUR job to deal with it. The post should not be in the thread. It should not be getting answered in the thread. It should be hidden in the thread. And in many cases, somebody up there should be taking a look at the person who posted it.

If you don't do your damned job, bigoted filth sits in threads at DU, just for example. Or a person who has been attacked is left to either suffer the attack in silence or start defending themself all over a thread.

Hide the bleeding post. Don't tell alerters what to do when what they have asked you to do is your job. If you don't want to do it, don't sit on a jury.

Oh, and Juror #6? If you think ignorant bigotry is a "little disagreement", maybe you need to find a new home.

Do your job or don't bother getting out of bed, is all I have to say.

The whole subthread (or thread) is quite probably a disaster because a bunch of bloody jurors all said This whole subthread is a disaster. This comment is no worse than every other vile offensive comment in the exchange. Leave it alone.

And as seabeyond has pointed out before, if the first jury or two had done their jobs, the whole subthread wouldn't exist.

Who are all these people who sit on juries but don't seem to otherwise have the first clue what it's all about??

Nothing is going to come of this thread but another 200-500 copy and pastes, and alerts, and hurts.

A big mistake is when we assume we know who an alerter is. We do not, and 90% of the time there is no "tell". This I know, there is a long standing feud here that is making DU suck. I wish those involved would put it to bed or take a break from DU.

This is a post to keep me off a jury for the million bits of nasty that are about to happen here (on both sides) and to air out my feelings as an observe

I took my concerns to admin by checking TOS in 8 alerts.

I took my concerns to admin by alerting on all of the 7 jury results I received allowing the attacks to stand.

Several dozen people in the thread in question called for admin action to be taken. I actually didn't in that thread, as I recall.

This thread isn't about that.

This thread is about me being locked out of a thread that is about attacks on me, which contains post after post expressing horror at the attacks on me and calling for action against the attacker and calling the attacker a variety of unsavoury things (not one post of which has been hidden) ... because I said that I supported things said by the attacker generally and thought her animus against me arose from false beliefs about me propagated at DU -- because there just ain't no other explanation.

But mostly it's just about the supreme irony of me being locked out of a thread that is about a long series of attacks on me, for supposedly attacking the person the thread in question is all about attacking, when I actually didn't even do that.

Some people just aren't as easily amused as I am, I guess.

Oh, just snork.

Everybody kows the alert on the original post was bogus. Everybody.

And I'm the only person who has ever posted the content of a hidden post in H&M. Right.

Who doesn't realize that they're just making themselve Obvious every time they do this??

The iverglas primitive is a "she," and often gives clues she suffers from the same sorts of things the Die alte Sau, the Proud2BLibKansan primitive, does.

There's something wrong with her female plumbing below the navel, possibly an internal birth defect or something, that obstructs her being a woman, and turns her into a bitch instead.

and editing to add -- the facts of what goes on in a place on earth, the thing we like to call "reality", is not an "opposing opinion". Not everything on earth is an opinion. Some things are just true. Or false.

Iverglass should be on Obama's SCOTUS. That way sHE could tell all the other Supremes why they are wrong on their vote, and change the vote to suit himself.
