Now that it has been futher confirmed that Martin did indeed physically attack Zimmerman and that there's at least a 95% likelihood that Zimmerman killed him in self- defense, DU's on damage mode, and has to find creative ways to spin it, or invalidate it.
To that end:

This is how the whole event started. Why the hell was a white adult male stalking a black teenager? It's not like it was on Zimmerman's property.
Of course the boy had the right to defend himself - he was stalked and/or attacked."
1. Zimmerman's neighborhood had quite recently been hit with a rash of burglaries committed by black youths (Confirmed by a statement made by one of Zimmerman's neighbors who happens to be black herself). Zimmerman was head of his neighborhood watch, a program which more or less exists for the express purpose of preventing such crimes from happening again.
2. Martin was acting very suspiciously, slowly walking between the houses in the neighborhood on a dark and rainy night, trying to avoid being spotted by anyone. Kind of like how a would- be burglar would go about casing a neighborhood to determine which houses would make the best targets. Consider also that Martin had recently been suspended from school for possessing a backpack full of women's jewelry (Almost certainly stolen) and a burglary tool.
3. For the claim that Martin was "attacked" by Zimmerman first, why is it that Martin has no other such injuries on his body which would suggest that? The only one in that situation whose injuries are consistent with being physically attacked was Zimmerman. Why is it that Zimmerman did not have similarly injured knuckles if he attacked first? Why is it that neither the audio from the 911 call nor the testimonies of the independent eyewitnesses remotely suggest that Zimmerman attacked Martin first?
