WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's re-election campaign is jumping into the Wisconsin recall, focusing on educating and registering voters in advance of the June 5 election.

Tripp Wellde, the Wisconsin state director for the Obama campaign, sent an email to supporters on Thursday night to get them fired up to support Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the Democratic nominee looking to unseat Gov. Scott Walker (R). From Wellde's email:

The next election here in Wisconsin is coming up on June 5th -- and it's important to make sure your voice is heard.

For the last year and a half, Governor Walker has divided Wisconsin -- siding with big corporations and the super-rich at the expense of working, middle-class families. He's broken our trust in state government: Too many Wisconsin families are out of work, students face crowded classrooms, and working men and women will be hurt by cuts to health care funding.

We can do better. Together, we'll work to elect Tom Barrett, who will stand up for all Wisconsinites as governor -- and that starts with getting the word out now about what's at stake on June 5th.


Wellde also issued a statement on Tuesday, after Barrett's victory in the Democratic primary, saying, "President Obama is proud to stand with Tom Barrett and the hundreds of thousands of Wisconsin families who are coming together to move Wisconsin forward."

With Obama involved, you will see bus loads of illegal aliens and people from other states going to Wisconsin to vote against Walker.

Watch what happens in California on Monday, when Governor Moonbeam there announces some really big budget cuts--in social services, in education, in state employees, whatnot.

Apparently a projected $9 billion shortfall is now $16 billion, or something like that.

I'm sure that if Bela Pelosi were still Speaker of the House, the Democrats still controlling that body, Governor Moonbeam would've approached them, asking the U.S. taxpayers to bail them out.

But happily that option doesn't exist any more.

Wasn't there a congressional district in New York City that had been (D) since God was a boy, that abruptly switched (R) in a special election to replace a disgraced (D) congressman?

Walker ran unopposed and still garnered more votes than the two Libtards combined.

Tom Barrett wasn't even the Union (read Obama) backed candidate and he won the Lib nomination.  Richard Trumpka blew $10 million on the candidate that finished third in a two man race.

Obama sticking his nose into this won't help...he's just very effectively distracting you idiots from the fact he's doing very very badly in his own election.

NY-9.  Anthony Weiner's seat, which is now being redistricted out of existence.  The Republican who won that seat is now running against Kirsten Gillibrand for her Senate seat.  Longshot, but maybe possible.

ETA--IIRC, Scott Walker's government has a budget surplus, as well, for this fiscal year.  That will stick in the minds of the good people of Wisconsin.

Also, from some of the stuff I've seen, an untold number of Rs crossed over to vote in the Dem primary to beat the union candidate.

And the cuts will be as unpopular as possible.

It's just like school boards, whose first cuts are always to eliminate football and bus service - never any of the multiple layers of administration.
