California is a better example. Contrast it with Wisconsin. One state has democrats in control of the state government and is in massive debt the other switched control to the GOP in 2010 and not only managed to erase a structural deficit of $2.2 billion but created a $150 million projected surplus.

That is why the Dems have chosen Wisconsin as "their hill to die on" because the last thing they need is a state going GOP and instantly getting itself out from the shitter the Dems put it in.
