Secretariat was his dam sire(maternal grandfather). He has Northern Dancer (goes back to the great Native Dancer) on his sire's side.
Of course he retired from stud duty back in 2008 and now lives the life of total leisure.

Worked on the track for several years. We tend to know our own.

Have you seen the Zenyatta/Bernardini colt yet? Hope he is going to be big like momma is. She is being bred to Tapit this year.

What a schmuck.

My sentiments, exactly!!

Yeah, if I posted as often as I lurk I'd be in the same neighborhood.

However, in full disclosure, I am of the female persuasion.  And not the DUmmie sort either.   :)

Why don't ya change the caveman avatar? If ya need help, Ah'm sure there's many here who can walk ya thru it.

Always good to hear another feminine opinion! Especially if she agrees with me about the "anointed one"!

I have a Percheron, does that count?

I have a mule from her that is around 18 hands! He's a big boy!

LOVE MULES, rather have just two then 10 horses.   Smarter then any horse, brave big time and will not run off from a fallen rider.  A horse will run taking a rider of a cliff, a mule will dig in their heels and refuse to do something they consider stupid.  Mule sense, stubborn and bigger place in how the West was won then the horse.

Only problem I have seen with mules is they have to be handled VERY carefully, they never forget anyone that mistreats them, treat them well and they are as loyal as a dog.

Got a soft spot in my heart for mules and the big horses. Did most of my eventing on a home-bred TB/Shire that topped out at 17.2 and looked like a smaller version of his daddy. Had the hot blood speed and refinement and the temperament and size from the other side. Loved that horse.

What a beautiful colt.  I love Bernardini as well as Zenyatta.  She's being bred to Tapit?  Whoopee! as I love me some Tapit!

It is going to be interesting to see Zenyatta babies do at the track - I am looking forward to it.

If we have time tonight I will have my husband help me with the av.  If he runs out of patience (highly likely  :-))  I will then ask here.
