At a professional level you don't get training. You are expected to know the job. If true, which I doubt, the DUche was unqualified for the job but thought that he should have been the CEO.
I don't believe for a minute the primitive was "director" of anything.
He
might have been the guy who emptied the desk-side wastebasket of some director's secretary.
This reminds me of when I was manager of the Reunion, a privately-owned student union at the University of Nebraska, and one time an application crossed my desk from some smart-alec kid from Omaha; under "managerial experience" (not required for the job, but he filled it out anyway), he listed "supervisor, returned soda bottles department, Baker's Supermarkets."
He was hired anyway, and turned out pretty good.
