I know we're off-topic, but I was just reminded of a mystery/thriller book I read (Cornwell reminded me).  The author was a woman.  In real life, I imagine she could drive you nuts; all her dialogue was talkin talkin talkin about emotions and feelings, rainbows, unicorns and relationships.  At one point, she's in a house with some dude, the dude sees by surveillance that the FBI is closing in the property; he's got to get the hell out of there.  He grabs his pre-packed stuff, and she's whining at him:  "Where are you going??  Stay here and talk to me!!!!"
:lmao:   I think I closed the book and left it at that point.

What a bunch of SHIT, does King really expect us to believe his accountant does not call quarterly and tell him, " Say Stevie we have a problem here, you need to donate to charity ,  at least another $500,000 as a right off, to keep your taxes as low as they are.   Good business to get publicity for good works, and you get to have your name on a Hospital Wing or Fire House."

Check out the areas in Maine he lives near, Why is he not pouring in money to help the schools and the out of work anonymously.  Oh yes he needs a receipt to right off on taxes his gifts, to be just an anonymous Donner has no TAX benefits.

Then to spread about word he is behind the gift, blush and deny it is a small town thing, he needs the AP to pick it up.

Screw this shit about Federal Taxes, he needs to put his extra money to work in his State, see with his own eyes where his money is going and do this on the QT,  not expecting anything but satisfaction to do good with no rewards to himself.

Not all Mainers fell off the turnip truck, suspicious lot we are.

When a business man with big bucks gives to Charity and takes credit, first thing we think of is OH-OH, what dos he get out of this.

Here's a thought DUmmies..............Lets cut the Government entitlements by 2/3 or more........

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

-- Marcus Tullius Cicero, 55 BC (106-43 BC)

I bet a bunch of fat assed liberals will be masterbating to the thought of Stephen King tonight.

Beg! I'm surprised at you! It's spelled masturbating! heh, heh, heh!

Seriously, I wish I had the time to pick apart this blathering he calls an article.

Fisking this would be child's play, but I'm busy tonight.  And Stevie, nobody says you can't give more.  But when fully half of America has either no or a negative tax burden, and look to your own state of Maine as to where "tax the rich" rhetoric leads, it's not that the rich aren't taxed enough, but that 1--we spend too much on people who pay nothing into the system, 2--have a "wish list" that simply can't be fulfilled.  It's like a child's Christmas list--it's cute, but nowhere near realistic.

Don't ya just luv these rich pricks askin' to be taxed more, when damn near half the population sit back and collect our ****in' money?

If the gubmint wants to increase their ****in' revenue, do away with the damn EIC! Why the hell should anyone get more money back than they pay in? I have never understood that BS! Maybe because I have never qualified for it!

Uh Stephen, Go find "IT"!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!
