Obama the Anti-Christ?

Obama as Anti-Christ

Claim:   The Book of Revelation describes the anti-Christ as someone with characteristics matching those of Barack Obama.

Status:   False.

Example:   [Collected via e-mail, March 2008]

According to the Book of Revelations the anti-christ is: The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal.... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??

~~~~~~~~~~~**~~~~~~~~~~
Apparently some one questioned it enough to have snops.com check it out.  But really, how the heck would they know?
Man...  the ignorance of Americans is astounding sometimes.  Even I caught the problems with the question before reading the Snopes article.
I was wondering how Revelations could say that the Anti-Christ would be of Muslim descent, when Islam didn't exist at the time of it's writing...
Obama does fit most of the characteristics of the Antichrist.  However, Obama is married, so that rules him out...at this time.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."
I wouldn't call him the anti-Christ as stated in the book of Revelations however, I will state that his statements, mannerisms, and mechanisms parallel those of the anti-Christ stated in the book.
I think the nature of the Book of Revelation is a telling of the future.  It would not matter if something existed at the time.  I don't think beasts with ten horns and seven heads existed then either, but Revelation 13 speaks of one coming from the sea.
The Bible also says no one will know him as the anti christ until it is revealed.  So, if you think you've spotted him, odds are , it's not him.
Yes, that is another thing which makes predictions and accusations pointless.
Obama is the Hollywood version of the Anti Christ, though.  If I were writing a script, he would fit it to a T.
He's no more the Anti Christ than Bush is.
True, the ignorance is astounding.
There's supposed to be more than one AntiChrist, but I don't believe Barack Hussein Obama is among them - as others have already pointed out, he would have MUCH more charisma and be able to think on his feet MUCH better - and he would've done MUCH better in fundie-heavy WV and other places, if he actually was The Beast.
I seriously doubt that if you stripped him naked, you would find the numbers "666" anywhere on his skinny ass.
