Elizabeth Warren’s avowed Native American heritage — which the candidate rarely if ever discusses on the campaign trail — was once touted by embattled Harvard Law School officials who cited her claim as proof of their faculty’s diversity.
 
Warren’s claim, which surfaced yesterday after a Herald inquiry, put the candidate in an awkward position as campaign aides last night scrambled but failed to produce documents proving her family lineage. Aides said the tales of Warren’s Cherokee and Delaware tribe ancestors have been passed down through family lore.
 
“Like most Americans, Elizabeth learned of her heritage through conversations with her grandparents, her parents, and her aunts and uncles,” said Warren’s strategist Kyle Sullivan.
 
The Ivy League law school prominently touted Warren’s Native American background, however, in an effort to bolster their diversity hiring record in the ’90s as the school came under heavy fire for a faculty that was then predominantly white and male.
 
“Of 71 current Law School professors and assistant professors, 11 are women, five are black, one is Native American and one is Hispanic,” The Harvard Crimson quotes then-Law School spokesman Mike Chmura as saying in a 1996 article. The Crimson added that 83 percent of the Law School’s students believed the number of minority women on staff was inadequate.

BTW - after so much about Barack Obama, Derrick Bell, Elizabeth Warren and others I'm wondering what the **** is supposed to be so prestigious about this $50,000/year sink hole. Supposedly the draw of Harvard is to gain access to knowledge and wisdom not to be found at the local community college. Yet, they seem to be bamboozled by every two-bit huckster to come down the pike.

I can address at least the bolded part of your comment/question.......a student will NOT receive any higher quality education at Harvard (or any of the Ivy's for that matter) than any other institution depending on major and student dedication.  

Harvard doesn't really "stand out" academically in any area, in fact, a number of their departments are decidedly substandard.  You'll never see this anywhere in print, but they really suck in the sciences, finance, journalism, languages, literature, and even their much-touted business school is far inferior to schools like Penn or University of Maryland.

What Harvard DOES have is a distinguished alumni network, and a "legacy" system that works well to place their graduates in prestigious positions.....it's an "old boy" network that has been in place for over 200 years, and is quite effective.  Harvard graduates can be (and many of them are) dumb as a box of rocks, but they are guaranteed a good position upon graduation because companies are "credentialist" and like nothing better than to have a "Harvard grad"on their payroll.  Same goes for politics and fields like law and consulting......it's all image and little substance.

I'll bet you a dozen ptarmigan eggs he attended Harvard but that he enrolled as a foreign student...as in ineligible-to-be-president-of-the-US foreign.

As in the OP, libs spend so much time hating America and white people they like to register as "persecuted minorities" or just plain ol' Not-American. They get student grants and get to suck each others' dicks at cocktail parties bragging about their petty little prejudices while pretending to be victims or outsiders.

I'm convinced Obama played the same angle as Warren but he did it with such zeal to such a degree that if the truth came out he would have disqualified himself from holding federal office.

Apparently "Who You Know" is valuable so long as those you know fake being "oppressed" or openly declare they aren't/won't be American.
