If you've read his column in "The Onion" called "savage Love," you know what an out, and out NASTY, flaming lefty this dude is. Oh, and he invented a vulgar, degrading, sick term for Rick Santorum that is just called "Santorum." I advise you not to look it up unless you have a strong stomach. I just wished to provide a bit of background on the guy before posting the article.

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy asses.”

The speaker was Dan Savage, founder of the “It Gets Better” project, an anti-bullying campaign that has reached more than 40 million viewers with contributors ranging from President Obama to Hollywood stars. Savage also writes a sex advice column called “Savage Love.”
Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference.

Savage was supposed to be delivering a speech about anti-bullying at the National High School Journalism Conference sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. But it turned into an episode of Christian-bashing.

Rick Tuttle, the journalism advisor for Sutter Union High School in California, was among several thousand people in the audience. He said they thought the speech was one thing – but it turned into something else.

“I thought this would be about anti-bullying,” Tuttle told Fox news. “It turned into a pointed attack on Christian beliefs.”

Tuttle said a number of his students were offended by Savage’s remarks – and some decided to leave the auditorium.

“It became hostile,” he said. “It felt hostile as we were sitting in the audience – especially towards Christians who espouse beliefs that he was literally taking on.”

Tuttle said the speech was laced with vulgarities and “sexual innuendo not appropriate for this age group.” At one point, he said Savage told the teenagers about how good his partner looked in a speedo.

The conservative website CitizenLink was the first to report about the controversy. They interviewed a 17-year-old girl who was one of students who walked out of the auditorium.

“The first thing he told the audience was, ‘I hope you’re all using birth control,’” she told CitizenLink. “he said there are people using the Bible as an excuse for gay bullying, because it says in Leviticus and Romans that being gay is wrong. Right after that, he said we can ignore all the (expletive deleted) in the Bible.”

As the teenagers were walking out, Tuttle said that Savage heckled them and called them “pansy asses.”

As we've mentioned over and over, there are only certain groups you can "abuse" without retribution...basically "white male" and "Christian."  I find it totally in line with leftist beliefs that there is no problem with them bullying those with whom they disagree. 

In fact, they strongly support bullying those with whom they disagree.  The intolerant leftists simply slap an inaccurate "INTOLERANT" label on anyone that "thinks wrong," and then considers them less-than-human enough to bully, threaten and silence.  This can be seem most clearly when they deal with youth and young adults (surprise, surprise...NOT).  It's so much FUN to bully some young, nearly-defenseless kid, after all.

Nope, from my view point, to walk out and not hear the rest of the story is to limit the education one is getting from hearing the whole story.

One has to stay even when the view point is horrid. Leave too soon and there may be things said that are worse then what caused you to leave mid point.

How can one learn their enemy if they have only bits and pieces of their view ?? 

Sit back and grit your teeth, listen to the intire presentation, to leave too soon will make the worse of the worse unknown to you.

These presenters depend on people to walk out in disgust and leave them with like minded individuals.  They do not want others that disagree to be in attendance, they want them out so they can speak to the like minded.

Stick with it no matter how bad it gets, take notes and later on find the Evil in the Speakers views.  Leave too soon and there is just disgust, stay and find there is more then disgust behind the Speaker,  more to think about.

Teach the children to know their enemy not just dismiss them. They have to know what they are thinking and how they plan to bring others into their Flock.   Adults that leave in disguest have no idea of how deep this runs.

I say stay and listen very closely  take notes if you Will and not depend on memories of what they said that disgusted you that made you leave, give them all the rope they need  to hang themselves.

These Snake Oil Salesmen and self made Preachers will sell some on their ideas, leave too soon and a friend or neighbor may come to you you and get you to believe in them.   Stay and listen to the Pitch full out, up to you to believe or disbelieve in this.

I personally wouldn't want to stay for the rest of the hatred, disgust, and malice. That's just me. I kinda get the "know thy enemy" mantra. However, I would have decide that I simply knew enough after 10 or 20 minutes of the speech, got up, and left. Probably with a one finger salute to Savage. People like this have no business talking to students of any kind, but it happens to a lesser, and sometimes more extreme extent in Colleges, unfortunately.

I agree somewhat with what you say, however, I feel that the whole sordid mess should come to light completely not just bits and pieces of the speakers agenda.      This is akin to separating the sheep from the goats.

Speakers know some of the Goats will leave when they push their crazy agenda, once the Goats leave then the sheep are all that is left to snag into even more crazy ideas.  In a crowd of 100 sheep, even if the agenda runs out all but 6-7 sheep, those 6-7 will go on to help push the speakers ideas to the Goats that have left before the true Evil comes to light.  

One cannot know evil and protect themselves from it with just a few minutes of offensive ideas.  The Sheep that leave after the intire presentation are the survivors, they now can KNOW with disgust and revolution the WHOLE plan and agenda of the speaker.

The Goats that left early are now uninformed and walking targets of the 6-7 loyal sheep that can twist the speakers words that they did not hear.  

Me, I do not care if the speaker makes me angry or sad, throw up or crap my pants, for the protection of my family and America, I need to hear all and be informed on any ideas that may cause harm to them if they get enough backers.  

Never ignore the Enemy, to do so is to risk life and limb.   Never as a child or young adult gave a thought that the unspeakable practice of Abortion would become a Law and every day occurrence in today's world.  

Yes, I also back then walked out on speech's made by people that pushed that agenda.   Had I stayed to listen to the intire program I would have been able to fight against a Law that in my wildest dreams never thought would be passed.
