ABC News’ Michael Falcone reports:

The Obama campaign opened up a new line of attack on Mitt Romney Friday, suggesting that as commander-in-chief Romney might not have made the same decision to order an attack by U.S. forces to kill terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden that President Obama did.
In a new web video titled “One Chance,” the Obama team features former President Bill Clinton praising Obama for deciding to launch the strike last year. “Why path would Mitt Romney have taken?” the clip asks.

But four years ago this April, the Obama campaign criticized Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for using Osama bin Laden in a political ad.
On the eve of the 2008 Pennsylvania primary, Clinton’s campaign released a television commercial featuring an image of bin Laden and invoking President Harry S. Truman’s quote: “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”

The ad never mentioned Obama by name, but it was part of the Clinton campaign’s effort to brand the Illinois Senator as inexperienced, especially in the foreign policy arena.

“Who do you think has what it takes?” the ad’s narrator says as an image of Clinton flashes on the screen. (The ad showed a brief clip of bin Laden as well as images of Pearl Harbor, the 1920′s stock market crash, Fidel Castro, the fall of the Berlin Wall). “You need to be ready for anything, especially now.”

The Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, accused the Clinton team of playing “the politics of fear” just like George W. Bush.

One problem: Hussein Obama never issued the order; Panetta did.

Obama is trying to get all the credit for it when he probably just wanted to have a beer summit with so he can apologize to him. After all us Americans are bad people who caused him to attack us. /obama mode off.

Then if Clinton would have done his job and got bin laden when he had the chance, we wouldn't have gotten attacked on sept. 11.

Even if he had ordered it, all I ever hear from his supporters is "It was his decision, he ordered it." Is that an admission that he can't claim credit for any other aspect of the killing of bin Laden?

Looks like 0bama wants it both ways, on the one hand they are saying how Romney has the cold war mindset, which means that like Reagan he is going to start world war 3, on the other hand he would be too timid not to take enough time away from the golf course to give the kill order.  :mental:

Let me get this straight. 

Troops unknowingly burning Korans enrages Muslims, and recruits more terrorists.

Troops showing pictures of dead terrorists enrages Muslims and recruits more terrorists.

Well, basically anything and everything enrages Muslims and recruits more terrorists.

Oh yeah, and all those things also put our troops in danger.


But, Obama figuratively going on the campaign trail with Obama's head on a pike is a good thing as far as the left is concerned?

Yeah, that was a Freudian slip I guess.  I should have used bin Laden instead of trying to use Osama .

Americans have short memories and the killing of O.B.L. will have little positive effect on the anointed one's bid for reelection. What will is the economy, jobs, health care, gas prices, etc. In other words, what effects our daily lives opposed to some radical nut that was killed.

Who got the intel, and put the structure and training into place. The way I have heard it, which also fits with what we know of owebuma's character is, he had to be pulled off the golf course, shoved into a blazer, then herded into a seat in the sit room. His order was "get him", no other illuminating direction. Like voting present, if the deal went wrong he had room to hang a subordinate.

Even Arianna Huffington is calling Obama out for using the killing of Bin Laden as a campaign ploy. Do you know how bad you have to screw up to have Huffington call you out? Wow.
