Up working late... but the simple things make it ok
« on: May 13, 2008, 08:39:08 PM »
So I took a new job... it's been almost a month now and I'm settling in.  Like the old job I find myself up working late to meet deadlines (ahh, the joys of advertising).  But I really like my home computer setup since I switched to Mac's... and I took a couple pics of the system while I'm working tonight.

How far things have come over the last 15 years or so that I've been in this industry.  God... those 15" CRT monitors were horrible.  You can work so much more easily today with a modern system and dual 24" monitors... multiple operating systems on a single machine... even modern browsers (like Firefox) with the plug ins that allow you to record and play back your steps in the browser, FTP from another tab, validate HTML, verify 508 compliance... check links etc.

If I had access to this technology in 1995... I would have thought aliens gave it to us.  :)

I'm proud of my new crank with the rubber handle.

What does this thread have to do with your bedside commode?

Ah for the good old days of punch cards and paper tape.
An optimist sees the glass as half full, a pessimist sees the glass as half empty, an engineer sees that there is twice the glass required to contain the beer

What was wrong with your old crank?

You gonna buy that Allsteel chair?
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
