Jamiel Shaw, was black and the shooter was hispanic. Not a "white" hispanic, but a hispanic. And a gang member. And a convicted felon. And an illegal alien. And was just released from jail 28 hours prior to Jamiel's killing. No, the media, nor the nbbp, nor the rhyming reverends seemed nearly as interested in making a racial case out of this tragic killing as they have with the Martin killing. Could this be because the suspect is a "brown" person and not a "white" hispanic as Zimmerman is? Could it be because the suspect is an illegal alien, a class of people the left seems to embrace whole heartedly? Maybe it's because it's not an election year and the imcumbent President (who happens to be half black...would this make him a "white" negro?...) is slipping in the popularity polls and the left needs an issue to re-energize the base? Hard to say, difficult to answer, but it is interesting to see how little attention and "outrage" this Shaw killing created when you compare to the Martin case.
The trial for this murder started this week and is being tried as a capital offense. It will be interesting to see if the media and rest of the usual suspects latch onto this or let it quietly fade away.
