Check this out, all right. I’m the president of the United States. We only finished paying off our student loans off about eight years ago. That wasn’t that long ago. And that wasn’t easy–especially because when we had Malia and Sasha, we’re supposed to be saving up for their college educations, and we’re still paying off our college educations.

I didn’t just read about this. I didn’t just get some talking points about this. I didn’t just get a policy briefing on this.

We didn’t come from wealthy families. When we graduated from college and law school we had a mountain of debt. When we married, we got poor together. We added up our assets and there were no assets. And we added up our liabilities and there were lot of liabilities—basically in the form of student loans.

When the president says he and his wife added up their assets and there were no assets, he may as well be speaking a foreign language to a man like Mitt Romney went to college on his assets which were handed to him. And while that’s fine for anyone who has been afforded that luxury in life, the idea that Romney can in any way relate to the average American is absurd.

To have a sitting president level with his audience and, with all due humility, relate directly to his constituents in this way is something President Obama is uniquely capable of doing. Because he’s been there. Because he knows the value of humility.

No bumper-sticker, television commercial, radio ad, or phony slogan can match this relation in its appeal.

President Obama isn’t someone you wish you could have a beer with, he’s someone you did have a beer with.

He only impoverished an entire nation, because of his own ambition. The poor DUmmies actually think that Barry gives a damn about them. All Barry wants is your vote and your money.

He is not an elite, he had roughly the same opportunities as anyone else did and he made the most of them by working hard and graduating from a great school. He then worked hard to pay off his debt and now he became President. The Freepers are more jealous of people who came from similar backgrounds as they did, but achieved more, someone like R-Money they hate less because he is royalty and had a huge head start on them so it doesn't reflect poorly on them that he ended up wealthy, after all, how could Romney have ended up anything other than filthy rich?

They absolutely hate hate hate that Obama came from modest means and is the great American success story that they aren't. I don't think there is any doubt that Obama knows the value of a dollar and knows what a days work means. Romney cannot hide his privileged upbringing. He has never struggled, he has never known the value of a dollar, and I doubt if he's ever labored a day in his life.

Good grief before you know it they wil claim he was born in a log cabin and walked a mile to return 2 cents in change to a customer.  :banghead:

Obama may not have been 'wealthy', but his own story indicates an upper middle class lifestyle.

HOWEVER -- his little speech about being " po' " does betray a truth about both he and the missus.

Neither of them are smart enough, or had grades good enough to get scholarships.

And at the time Obama & the missus were in college (the entirety of the 1980s), virtually every education endowment would throw money at any minority that had shown any sort of intellectual talent.

How do you know any of this if he never produced a single page of his college transcripts?  We don't know who paid for his college or if he even attended as a US citizen.  He had an Indonesian passport at some point and used it to travel on when there was a federal embargo on travel to that area.

So I guess this DUmbass has access to information the rest of the civilized world doesn't.

In response to Tea Partiers raising legitimate concerns about the Obama administration unwisely using our tax dollars, Obama snootily said "They should be thanking me."
Last month, for an Easter basketball clinic at the White House, participants used balls that had Obama's face on them.
Also recently, he specifically called out people who donated money to the GOP, and accused them of "Betting against America." So, in Obama's eyes, he's no longer a candidate, or even a president: He's nothing less than America itself.
Obama wouldn't know humility if it bit him in the butt.
Oh, and the one DUmmy's comment about Obama knowing the value of a dollar made me laugh.
This is the man who constantly pushed to raise our debt ceiling and increase government spending, and who flushes millions of our tax dollars down the crapper every chance he can get to finance extravagant parties and exorbitant vacations for himself and his family.

Just a thought on humility.  This is one of the most difficult character traits to achieve, and also one of the most attractive.  Sincere, self-deprecating humor is extremely charming.  Anonymous charity is noble.
