After 4-Month Surge, Gas Prices Start Falling.

After 4-Month Surge, Gas Prices Start Falling.

After a four-month surge pushed gasoline to nearly $4 per gallon in early April, drivers, politicians and economists worried that gasoline prices might soar past all-time highs, denting wallets, angering voters and dragging down an economy that is struggling to grow.

Instead, pump prices have dropped 6 cents over two weeks to a national average on Friday of $3.88. Experts say gasoline could fall another nickel or more next week, saving drivers about $2 per fill-up.

So repugs can't holler about gas prices + failure of POTUS for a while, but its early. HOPE to see similar September/October.

All praise Barry for this great news!!!!!!

(And, yes, I know he has little to do with it.)

I seem to recall no praise from DUmmyland when gas prices fell dramatically in Chimpy's last few months in office.

The reality is prices will probably fall by a few pennies for most of us then go right back up around Memorial day and stay high through the summer.

This is what I don't understand. While gas is up during 0's term the DUmmies claim that the president has little to do with it. When gas went up during W's time in office they were almost claiming that he was personally going to every pump at every station and jacking up the price.

Can't they have just a tiny bit of consistency on the issue?

Screw gas, I am more worried about diesel.

Nobody ever seems to talk about that.

Even when you see reports on the news whining about gas prices, occasionally you see the sign in front of a gas station and it shows that the price of diesel is more expensive then premium.

The price of gas goes up and you whine, the price of diesel goes up and everybody payes more for everything.

Hell, I can snuff out a cigarette in jet fuel and its probably more pricey then diesel, and are you watching the price of kerosene?

It's been hovering around $3.90/gal at most of the local stations.  Even the wholesale places like BJ's are getting $3.80.  And no, there's no sign of it going down anytime soon.

Of course, how soon they forget that under the "record" gas prices of Bush, they were above $3/gal for all of five months.  We're now at 15 months and counting.

Rumor has it Chuck Schumer had a little talk with Hillary Clinton begging her to talk to the Saudis to pump out more and get prices down before the election.

BTW, Sean had the former head of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister on his radio show today, it was during the 3rd hour of the show, and the guy is a registered Democrat, voted for Obama, but he won't vote for Obama again, he said Obama and Democrats are beholden to the radical environmentalists and don't care about the average American, he also said we have everything we need on our own soil that we'd never have to rely on OPEC. He runs this company now:

Hell, out here in southern California I'll be happy to see it go below $4.20 at the cheap gas places...

Gas is still 3.99 in my area. It's been that way for the past couple of months. I think this is the longest I ever seen it go without changing. It is almost like they are afraid to price it above 4.00.

Also, on the news today; they were saying that Obama is starting to get a lot of heat from his own party about his denying the keystone pipe line. They are saying he is giving into the environmentalist more than he is giving into the American people.

I think gas has gone down all of five cents.  I paid $3.78 last week and it's down to about $3.71.  Nowhere have I seen it for less than that, and I'm pretty sure I paid $3.74 yesterday.

On my trip up to the cabin in N.H. last weekend I found myself filling up at half a tank because the price was only $3.79 I had a big smile on my face for the first few seconds until it sunk in that I saved a whopping $2 and change.  ::)

I went to North Carolina (Southern Massachusetts) the other month and gas was $3.94 and up.  It was 25-30 cents cheaper in Tennessee at the time.  Unbelievable.

Have you noticed there haven't been any "reports" in the media about HOW much money the "evil" oil companies are making under Zero's administration, compared to the "Exxon/Mobile reported profits of $umteen billion today", every F'N day, under GWB.

Yup, the hypocrites haven't said a word.

[edit]

Well, I really shouldn't say that. They do actually talk about it. But this time instead of blaming it all on the President, they are blaming it all on speculators. So basically, when Bush was President, it was the President who was raising the prices. Now that Obama is President, it is speculators raising the prices. When Romney gets elected in November, it will be the President raising the prices again.

Yeah, how 'bout a report something more along these lines......

If unemployment is so low, why are so many of the DUmmies unemployed?
