The big guy was stretching something, and it wasn't himself.

And naturally he's hoping the affluent readers of the Nation hit his "donate" page.

You mean his wife pimping his campaign on her graveyard website isn't working?

Well now, one has to give Marta credit; she's standing by her man, even if he looks like an ass.

You know, that's one thing that perplexed me about the big guy's "family values" non-answers in that one questionnaire.

In Bellevue, family values are a big deal.

But the big guy said it wasn't important, thus throwing away one of his strongest points.

I mean, think about it.  Married to one, and only one, woman for 34 years.  Father of children.

I dunno the shape of the marriage or the fates of the kids, but that alone speaks volumes.

The big guy should've answered that family values question, but the big guy doesn't pay attention to franksolich's advice and counsel.

People here may misunderestimate the readership of The Nation.

The facts and quotes laid out in www.electstevedawes.com are repulsive to decent and civilized people, and doom his candidacy if enough Ward 1 voters become aware of them.

But to readers of The Nation, who are almost without exception communist, fifth columnist, America-hating traitors, the true Steve Dawes is an admirable candidate.

The Nation is just a slick version of The Daily Worker.

Pointing out Steve Dawes's lifelong socialism helps him greatly among that readership.

I checked the Peoples World to see if the big guy's shown up there yet.

Nope, and probably the friends of the big guy can't publicize him there.

The Peoples World is the successor the Daily Worker, which was one time a daily publication, and then a weekly publication, and then it merged with other Communist newspapers, becoming the weekly Peoples World; it most recently became an on-line only publication.

Perhaps nadin should apply for a job there?  They might pay.

When was the big guy featured on the Drudge Report?

How'd we here, and the friends of the big guy, miss that?

The voters of the First Ward are not communist, fifth columnist, America-hating traitors. If they are trying to learn about the enigmatic Steve Dawes, Socialist candidate for Bellevue City Council, they will certainly find more than they expected.

Given the fact that The Nation has the disgusting habit of running Taliban propaganda messages unedited and without disclaimer...he may use look at it as getting the message to his core audience.

Steve's in damage control mode.

Control the message, Steve.

www.electstevedawes.com

You know, this is beyond ridiculous.

Why is the big guy responding to us on the Nation?

And he's coming across as being very defensive, very defensive.

Now, if franksolich were running for an office, franksolich would quite reasonably expect the primitives to try and derail his own campaign, although to be honest, I don't recall that franksolich ever said as many stupid things as the big guy did, on the internet.

franksolich is, if nothing else, the epitome of "discreet."

Anyway, if the primitives were to try what's going on here, rather than myself responding to primitive allegations, I'd ignore the primitives and let my friends answer for me.  That way, I wouldn't look defensive, and as a bonus, I'd look above the fray.

The big guy should have Marta, his kids, his kids-in-law, and other primitives respond on his behalf, for him.

But does the big guy pay attention to the advice and counsel of franksolich?

Tsk tsk tsk.

Steve is doing the ONE thing a candidate of his stature should not have to do, and that is to conduct an argument with someone in a forum that ostensibly supports his very candidacy based upon the socialist/Marxist goals of the site. He should not have to "defend" any of his positions, because the positions he holds are true to his core, and should be front and center!

Other Nation readers may be flummoxed at the exchanges in this thread. They would be wondering why Steve is justifying his existence, when he doesn't have to justify it. It is a cardinal rule NOT to inflame the masses, and Steve's campaign manager should do so post haste. Perhaps his brilliant staff at www.electstevedawes.com can provide the guidance he so severely lacks in these social networking times.

Denying his socialism on a socialist website is rather the turd in the punch bowl approach now isn't it Stevie?  The primitive with the Ralph Cramdon profile and the Ed Norton occupation has definitely put his future success in the crapper.  Embrace you inner socialist Stevie, embrace it.  Shout it loud, wear it proud.  Everyone knows unions love socialism it is what they are all about.  Do your local proud, fly your freak flag high screaming to the world I am Obama Stevie Proud Socialist.   :whistling:

To re-visit an old campfire on Skins's island, in which the big guy asks if he should be sneaky about his political sentiments:

I'm told I need a more neutral car to win the election to city council next year. Last look.

Red's for the friends of the big guy; blue's for the primitives who don't want the big guy to win.

1. You should always be yourself, including your image.

If you attempt to win election by creating a false image, if you win the election, your voters will be disappointed with the false image you created for them when they look at your record and note that the false image didn't equal your actions.

There is indeed a game that if you don't play it, will keep you from getting into the race.

We had a Democratic candidate once who insisted she do things strictly "her way" and he campaign manager thought that was just great. I attended one of her campaign stops where she addressed an older conservative crowd. She was wearing thick wool socks with sandals, a long peasant skirt and a thick wool sweater. I don't think anyone heard much of what she had said because her appearance stopped everyone at hello.
She didn't get very many votes because no one took her seriously.

That's just the way it is.

Self avowed socialist, Steve Dawes of Bellevue, has been pretty quiet lately.
Wasn't there suposed to be some big announcement this weekend?
Will it be published at... www.electstevedawes.com

Why didn't the weeper answer any questions about his campaign and political thoughts?
Why would any serious candidate for any position, demand answers from potential voters.
What is Omaha Steve trying to hide?
Could it be his rabid support of socialism?
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I could be wrong, but I believe the big guy promised us a big announcement on this coming Wednesday, April 25.

It's kind of hard keeping track.

Anybody seen any yard-signs yet?

Rumor is the big guy took some cash-advances on his credit cards to pay the bill at the printer, so they'd be released.
