They are suggesting that Dawes seek to trademark his name - It'll never work, as there are way too many people named Steven Dawes out there already. Madonna can get away with it, Steven Dawes can't
He would have had better luck trademarking 'Omaha Steve' - And BTW, politicians are pretty much exempt from being able to trademark their names - well, they can, but it only prevents people from selling knock-off merchandise. It doesn't do a damned thing to stop 'unauthorized discussion'.
And then there is libel - but that is going to be really hard to prove, as
http://electstevedawes.com has only used Dawes' own words, and references back to the source material so any onlooker can refer to it to be certain that nothing is being presented out of context.
Cybersquatting applies only to websites that are being held for financial gain - example :the owner buys a domain name clearly referencing something else, and they fill it with porn, and leave it that way until he is paid a ransom for it, or the webite is filled with libel.
I suspect OS knows that already and has been informed that those avenue are closed, and is now hoping to Google bomb the other site into prominence with the help of others.
