Finally did it! Completed my last research paper need for my degree.

I've been working on the degree since I retired three years ago.

BSBA in Human Resource Management and certificate in Management

All I have to say is I am soooooo glad this is over with! :yahoo:

Now I can spend all of the time I spent studying on the lake chasing fish.

Actually, that means he can get a low-paying job as an assistant or and assistant manager, if he has experience, making probably 30K, but he will eventually be making over 100k, and maybe over 200k in the future. It's one of those "work up" fields like having a degree in business administration.

NOT trying to discourage anyone here; just trying to show him the expectations. HR managers can make a TON of money, but they don't pay them that right out of college because they don't hire their managers straight out of college. Just stick with it, gain that experience, and you'll make that money.

Thanks everyone for the congrats, I spent last evening chasing and catching.  I'll post a pic if I can figure out how to get them from iPhone to here.

Tonight is cold, windy and there is rain on the way, think I'll play a little MW3.  Look for the crappy sniper that just can't seem to get the knack of no scoping.

First of all congrats. But I'm confused. Why did you go get a degree AFTER you retired? Just for accomplishment sake, or is there something else I'm just not aware of?

I know people that do it. Retiree doesn't always mean 65. A co-worker retired as a river pilot at 50.

Once I get my student loans and my medical debt paid off (my left eye cost me $27,000), I plan on going back.  I'm not sure what for, but I'll be doing something soon.

I started a year before 9/11, however after 9/11 the workload of home station and deployments and trying to have a family life in between just wasn't condusive to completing. 

I promised myself I would finsih after I retired and I had to see it through.

No, I'm not completely done, I do plan on working on my Masters, I will probably take off a year before doing so.

I work for a company that does a lot of contract work for DoD, and I'm currently an analyst for my former career field, however I would like to have opportunities to do other things.

I had one career field my entire 29 years in uniform and still work in the field today.

I really enjoy being with the troops, supporting their efforts, and making a difference.  The degree helps me as I have had a practical use for just about every subject at some point over the past three years.
