I'll come right out and say it.

NBC is LYING about firing a producer for editing a 911 tape. In addition, they are LYING about disciplining ANY employee involved in this slam-dunk case of slander or libel.

Why? Simple. By not saying who they fired, they why the hell should WE believe if anyone had been fired? They can SAY someone had been fired...but gee whiz, Gilligan, haven't they LIED about the VERY THING they SUPPOSEDLY FIRED a producer over??

I CALL BULLSHIT.

If a producer HAD been fired, you can be DAMN SURE that he would have IMMEDIATELY called a presser to announce that NBC was "not being fair." Especially after losing a lucrative 6 or even 7 figure job! There would be NO WAY I would keep quiet if I did this crap and NBC fired me.

NOW, here is the clincher: HAD NBC publicly identified a producer, then it would be ADMITTING that someone actually doctored the tape. Right now, if Zimmerman wants to sue NBC, then NBC has an elusive target coupled with million dollar lawyers to defend. If NBC had an identifiable target, it would be MUCH HARDER for them to defend against Zimmerman.

So, bottom line... NBC did NOT FIRE ANYONE from the Zimmerman tape massacre.

Of course they are, it's NBC, the National Barak Channel.  Even if they went through the motions, the person would still be working there as a 'Consultant,' 'Outside Specialist,' 'Contractor,' or some other dodge notwithstanding any purely-technical pro forma termination from his or her pre-shooting position.

Keep in mind too "firing" from the broadcast facility at 30 Rock does't mean "fired" from NBC.

By not releasing the name of this alleged "fired" producer...they can simply relocate this person to CNBC....MSNBC...WRC (NBC Washington D.C.) KNBC or WNBC.  And with no name given...there's no way that someone with Level V google-fu can find him/her.  And at some point this person can be brought back up to corporate.
