Some DUmmies are getting fed up with the White Guilt Trip

We've seen the pattern over the last few days. Thread after thread about how white prejudice is worse than black prejudice, white hate is worse than black hate, white racism is worse than black racism (or that black racism cannot exist), "white privilege", meaning all whites experience advantages over blacks, and so forth. There have even been several recent tombstonings over pointing out double standards regarding how DU or the media reacts to black-on-white vs. white-on-black crime. A veritable orgy of self-hate and mindless ingratiating behavior on the part of the sensitive white liberals towards blacks in America.

While most of the oh-so-empathetic whitebread DUmmies are still wearing their hairshirts and scourging themselves with brambles just for their luck of the draw in the genetic lottery, though, a hardy few, like Ayn Rand's Atlas, feel the need to shrug off some of this blame and responsibility that has been heaped on their heads like hot coals:

The photograph is of the lovely John King, who has been protesting events in support of Trayvon Martin in Indiana. Apparently, Martin was a ghetto hoodlum, and therefore deserved to be shot. It’s going to lead to an interesting cycle: every black boy wearing a hoodie needs to be murdered, and when people protest the execution, white people like King will claim their views are being oppressed, so they need to lash out and kill more black boys, which means privileged white people will be blamed even more. What if I take offense to "gentle people of European descent!" being used in a derogatory way? I'm of European descent. That quote slams me, and all other whites, for being of such descent. I don't like it.

If it were the words, "gentle people of Arab descent," being used in such a way, a jury would be called and it would be removed from the record. But to group all whites together in such a way is apparently fine.

I am curious, because I too, although not in nearly as dire straits as SI, find it absurd to call me privileged.

So go ahead, help me to recognize all the privileges I have.

I myself would say that people who talk about privilege and say that other people who are sick of it "don't get it" do not themselves get it. Get that it is insulting for a self-righteous person to tell a poor person that they have privileges.

you still have not said what privileges I have enjoyed today, especially since I did not vandalize any cars today (much as I may have wanted to). Maybe I have the privilege that if some white punks vandalize my car nobody will call the cops.

If "it" is there it sorta makes a difference whether one calls "it" a "privilege" or calls it a "bowling ball" because words should "offer the means to meaning, and to those who will listen, the enunciation of truth."

I am listening. I have a bowling ball. I can go find it underneath my summer bed. Show me where my privileges are. Name just two of them that you think I have.

1. It insults them by insinuating any success they've managed to get is just because of their race. Apparently what some liberals think of white men is the same as what the GOP thinks of minorities in college or the workplace: they didn't earn it.

2. It insinuates further that those without success, like the person you're trying to browbeat in this thread, must have something wrong with them because they've squandered this huge advantage of whiteness and still aren't successful.

3. By doing the above, you alienate white workers and insist that they aren't a part of the same struggle you are, because they're, after all, part of the problem.

4. By doing so, the only possible result is bad feelings and division amongst the 99%, which ultimately serves the purposes of those actually enjoying privilege, who love the **** out of it when the peons segment themselves.

Don't you think it's a wee bit condescending to presume to tell perfect strangers what THEIR experiences have been in life? To presume that YOU know better how people have treated them, or why? People sometimes, very vocally, wonder aloud why the response to such blanket allegations is sometimes itself vocal, well that's why. No one likes some screen name online tell them how cake their life has been.

Finally, a couple of them have rummaged around in their Jockeys and found enough testicular tissue to say something back to these hucksters. I won't even bother to bring over the reponses. They're just the same sickening BS arguments, snark, and "Oh, you poor widdle white man" condescension we're used to seeing from them.

My grandfather and his family, who were sharecroppers and worked and lived alongside the black sharecroppers in the same little run down shanties would have been exceedingly interested, I'm sure, in hearing from white liberals all about this "white privilege" of which he was a beneficiary. It would have warmed his heart to know he wouldn't have been pulled over by the police so often, if he had had a car, or that he would get a shorter prison sentence, if he hadn't been a law-abiding citizen all his life, or that he could get a promotion easier, if there had been different levels of picking cotton. Yeah Reb, I feel guilty I have managed to raise my family all the while earning myself six screws in my back from my labors, and ending up damn near disabled in my old age to the point I may have to ask the government for their $800/month!

Yeah boy, I feel real privileged! I've done spent my 401K just holdin' off the creditors. Us whitey's have it made! Nothin' like havin' to rely on the ol' lady to put groceries on the table! If it weren't for the ranch, I'd be livin' outa my ****in' truck! The "regime" and their regulations is makin' it damn hard to keep the ranch up too!

I just laugh when they say I am somehow privileged.  My parents made just enough that I souldn't qualify for any government grants when I wanted to go to college, but not enough to actually help me through school, and I had no one to help show me how it could be done.  I moved out when I was seventeen and haven't ever seen a dime from them since that day. 

I built my second business starting with nothing but a toolbox, a truck, and $20 in pocket, trying to live on my own and go to college.  The only thing that got me was in trouble with the local government for not having a business liscense and Uncle Sam when he realized I hadn't been paying taxes every three months in 1995.  That folded my business and I struggled working for somebody else until I gave up and joined the Army. 

In all of it, my skin never helped me.  My business got work because one landlord talked to other landlords and I got a rep as being prompt, reliable, and not a dopehead.  It turns out most of the other people in that line of work only worked when they weren't high.

I walked out of my home at the age of 17 with only the clothes on my back, shoes on my feet, and two $20s in my left pocket.  A few decades later, I have managed to do fairly well and eek out a living where I don't have to be a burden to society.  My skin color earned me not the first damned thing.

On the other hand, I watched horrendously incompetent people get promoted for the color of their skin, their genital plumbing, how well they shook their shapely asses, their "native heritage", etc.  I got where I am not because of my light skin, southern dialect, blue eyes, or white hair.

No, ****os, I earned it - every damned inch of it through hard work and determination.

My mother could not afford to be a "safety net" so I therefore had to figure out how to make what I had work.  You want to talk about learning and developing philosophy, DUmmies?  Try living life without a nanny; it'll do wonders for your mental toughness and sense of personal liberty.  Here's one philosophical point that I will give you, free of charge:  If something is necessary to own, no matter what it is, always have at least two on hand.  This is especially important as it applies to income stream.

Did you get that, retards?  In order to be a grown-ass adult who can take care of themselves and their families, you should be doing whatever you can to honestly and legally obtain sustainable income streams and jealously guard them with your every effort and ability.  At this point, I have secured three.  Hard work, assholes, will do more for you than any government program.

Nevermind, I forgot my audience, forgive me.  I should know better than to expect you worthless, cargo cult ****s to do anything other than sit on your asses with your hands out...

I have learned over the years that I could expect no help, and now no justice, from the government and society that I spent my youth defending because of the color of my skin, hair, eyes, and southern dialect.  As with everything else I've had to "win" in my life, I'll take care of that myself if the time comes.

Does this "privileged" person of "European descent" need saving?  Nah.  I'm a firm believer in Thomas Jefferson's thought that the key to a strong mind is a strong body and a gun is the best way to ensure a strong body, to wit:
