OMG! I have something in common with Steve, I love all the Ghost Shows, I watch Ghost Adventures, but my favorite is Paranormal State and Dead Files, I have tons of books on the Paranormal, and I just find the subject fascinating. I'm thinking of joining a Ghost Hunting Club too LOL, and my Husband said he'll get me a Ghost Hunting kit for our Anniversary.

Been on exactly one ghost hunt. My neice was waitressing at a restuarant that was the oldest old home in my hometown. She was telling me about all of the ghost stories she had heard from the older workers there. Got in touch with a local paranormal "service" (sort of like TAPS of Ghosthunter fame, but without the full resources or organization). Got an OK from the owner to let 4 people spend a night in the place. After all the set up, equipment tests and planning the team areas we spent 4 hours actually hunting for the ghost.

End result: One experience, didn't get to record nothing. It just got a little cooler on the second floor in a corner. No sounds, no mists, no EVPs. Learned one thing from this experience. Not only is there no such thing as a free lunch, there's usually no such thing as a ghost.

Now, spirits that were people who died so fast they don't know they're dead, that might be something O can get behind.

The wife and I enjoy going on "Ghost Tours", we have never seen anything unusual, well other than the drunks that are out and about  , but they are fun and you learn a lot about the history behind the places you go.

So far we have been on 2 in Saint Augustine, and 1 in Savannah.

I live near Savannah...one of the most haunted cities in the US. Several Ghost hunting shows have been filmed here, specifically in the Moon River Brewery.

Pfft. My wife is one of Lizzie Borden's cousins. Needless to say, I do my best to not make her angry

I also own a Victorian era house of a fairly rare design. The design fell out of favor because it was believed to be a ghost trap. There are a lot of other factoids about my property that a ghost hunter might find interesting..

Don't make fun of this stuff you guys unless you have experienced paranormal activity in your home.  My daughter (less than 2 years old at the time) had a freak out incident where she told us "bop bop" bopped her head.  Now almost three years old, she's calling this ghost "Bobby".  My mom (who lives in WI) and my husband have seen a boy figure in my daughter's room.  We put our camcorder in our daughter's room one night a couple of months ago and picked up a lot of activity.  One being very heavy breathing in the camera, weeping, knocking on doors, footsteps, hammer noises, etc.  My daughter refuses to sleep in her room at this apartment unit.

We have used Google as much as we could, but have had no luck so far.  My mom & husband both saw this boy figure near our daughter's bed.  My husband said he has also seen a motherly figure on more than one occasion.  I have never seen anything, but have felt something.  It creeps me out a little bit, but whatever it is is not negative.  My husband said he has seen the woman figure more when Carleigh was younger and crying at night.  It's like she shows up to comfort her and be a mother.  My daughter just does not like her room here ever since the first incident.  My best friend came to visit and stayed in Carleigh's room and told us that room was so cold compared to the rest of our home.  I have walked into a very cold pocket of air in the hallway before, but that's the extent of my personal experience minus the camcorder recordings.  I need to finish listening to all of the videos and then editing them into one video.  Our camera cut the videos into five separate videos throughout the night.  Some of it is like, WOW OMG evidence.  I'll have to upload it some night.

When my youngest daughter was about 5 she said she saw my older daughter in the doorway of my bedroom. She actually called out to her.  My husband, daughter and I were laying in bed watching TV at night. The thing is, my older daughter and son happened to be spending the night at friends house. We asked her to describe what she saw and she described a girl with long blonde hair like her sister. Our dogs were acting really strange too and continued to act strange, only in the master bedroom, until we moved. Sometimes our older dog would get on my bed and stair at the wall above our headboard, he would bark at the wall too. It would freak the crap out of me when they would get all weird when my husband was out of town.

I'd love to!  I need to get newer headphones.  The ones I have now are going out and won't pick up anything now.  Once I get some new headphones, I'll finish listening to the videos and add the best unexplained noises to see what others think.

You hear a lot about animals being able to sense things like that. People just can't dismiss stuff like that just because they personally haven't seen anything. I knew someone who was totally sane, whose Daughter was totally sane, and the Daughter said at times her Grandmother came back and would sit on the edge of her bed, she would see her and at times just feel her presence.

I would think if your Daughter was older that there was a chance she saw something on TV, or related to a conversation she had with someone, not dismissing it, but kids sometimes make things up and at some point can think it's real, but your Daughter is too young to even suspect that she's making it up, if she said it? I'd totally believe it, especially with the other things you wrote about in reference to that room.

I don't disbelieve in paranormal activity, but I do believe that 99% of 'evidence' they present on TV can be explained. I do regard it all as an intellectual curiosity though, and have come up with a simple, yet expensive device to determine if 'intelligent hauntings' are fact or fiction once and for all.

I am actually considering patenting this device, as I am an eeeevil capitalist rethug.

I too am a skeptic. I stopped watching the Ghost Hunter shows for one simple reason. No pictures or conversations with a visible ghost. The tape recordings of voices can be faked for dramatic purposes. But I want to see an interaction with a ghost on camera.

That's why I proposed a night vision camera instead of the Amazon.com Ghost hunter kit. Various readings make for interesting stories, but it takes a picture to prove something.

Ghost Adventures has gotten a little too "showy" IMO, I liked it in the beginning but they seem to be playing for the camera now, whereas Paranormal State seems to still be low key, if they find something they report what they find, if they don't they report that too.

I love that show - it's crazy entertaining, especially if you play a drinking game where you take a shot every time one of them says 'Dude !' and two shots every time they stick Aaron into a room alone.

I passed out after 20 minutes....
