Tyler Perry Pulled Over, Accuses White Cops of Racial Profiling via Facebook

By Andrew Chow, JD at FindLaw.com

Tyler Perry's April 1 Facebook post about police pulling him over was no April Fool's joke: The highest-paid man in entertainment is accusing a pair of white Atlanta police officers of racial profiling.

Four days later, Perry's post boasts more than 117,000 "likes," 21,000 comments, and 12,000 shares. Atlanta police have launched an internal investigation, E! News reports.

Perry's predicament began when he admittedly made a left turn from a far-right lane -- a trick his security detail taught him, to make sure he wasn't being followed, Perry explained on Facebook.

Two white Atlanta police officers pulled him over, but apparently did not realize they'd just stopped Tyler Perry.

so what do DUers think? Profiling or not?

DUmmies: THIS is why no one trusts you when it comes to issues like Trayvon. Your elevation of the black man over all other races (except maybe Indians, and by that I mean American Indians, because God know how much you guys hate Indians from Asia) may assuage your epic white guilt, but jurisprudence in the real world needs to be a little more blind.

Gee, let's pretend all the races were reversed:

A rich white 1%er makes a completely illegal move in traffic and gets pulled over by black cops. The 1%er gets questioned until a white cop shows up, recorgnizes the 1%er, and tells the black cops to back off, because a RICH WHITE MAN is in their midst.

Golly...how would DU respond? I WONDER.

Minor slapfight between the rational and irrational - accusations of racism sure to follow for those not disrobing and spreading legs for the scofflaw black man.

He made an illegal and possibly dangerous turn.
Game over.
Who the dickens is Tyler Perry?  :???:
Never heard of him.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

When I saw the name, I thought "football player from Texas."

You guys are all RACISTS. He's a black filmmaker who makes HIGHLY RELEVANT and SOCIALLY IMPORTANT movies that carry on the great comedic tradition of black men dressing up like old black women and shuckin' and jivin' and lawd-have-mercyin' onscreen.

He's made a couple relatively entertaining family friendly movies. Gotten filthy rich from said movies. threw a few bucks to some charitable causes. Now is your typical hollywood better than the avg bear celebutard.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

He makes movies that are very popular with black people.  Big money makers.  From the TV trailers they look to have all black starring roles. I've never seen one of his films, but I'd say that he's probably a pretty good guy--I've heard that Spike Lee hates him, so he's got to be okay.

I'm getting NFS, Negro Fatigue Syndrome.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
