My kick off fund raiser wasn't a huge success. It did bring in $. I took the only night available before the NE. Caucus next Saturday when it was scheduled. The 7,300 flyers that went through the mail weren't delivered until Wednesday, the day of the kick off. The number of people that stayed was small. Those that dropped off checks and didn't stay made a huge difference. There is also an increase in local donations online since the flyers hit mailboxes Wednesday. I now have more local donations than those from outside the metro area.

I have stopped posting most personal family info of late thanks to a certain crowd. Let's just say I was busy with family issues the last couple days.

There is a great article in this weeks Barron's about the upcoming Republican sweep of Congress based on the candidates grassroots support shown by the amount of money raised (locally).

What do I win?

Family issues may have kept him from talking about his fundraiser (which I assume he waited because he knew civilized people would be stopping by to fact check any claims he would make about success).

The people dropping off checks and leaving comment is delicious, and of course not true - as is the nonsense about getting money from the lame flyer.

If I said it once, I said it a dozen times.... I can't wait to see his campaign finance forms.      :-)

Oh, and while he had zero time to post about his lame fundraiser, he found ample time to cut and paste silly articles.

Sounds like Steve Dawes, Socialist would work quite well in government. He puts out the mailer on the day of the big fundraiser, that's good for government work there.

I was going to get that grant form in on time but had family issues so the City of Bellevue lost out on $200k from Uncle sugar, 0bama.

Find out about more accomplishment of a true socialist, Steve Dawes at http://www.electstevedawes.com/
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

www.electstevedawes.com

I've been thinking on this. I would not be surprised if Steve Dawes has been spending more of the household budget than he should on his campaign, and Marta has given him what-for about it.

Steve said he sent out 7,300 flyers in a targeted mailing. Postage for saturation mailing runs 14.5 cents/piece. There's $1,000. Printing those atrocious flyers at the union shop in Lincoln- $400 with setup. Mini-tacos and an open keg at Bear's Bar- $250. All of those things would need to be paid beforehand, and were probably paid from Steve and Marta's household account.

Any more fundraisers, and he'll be running as "Hobo Steve", the newly single homeless candidate.

One wonders if the big guy's seen this poll, from the DUmping Ground:

http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,71457.0.html

41.4% say the big guy never had a big surprise.

I dunno; I think he did, but it flopped before he could unleash it.

All we know is there was a post at the DUmp claiming Socialist Steve is back.

DUmmies lie, all the time, and every time.

I remember when the Las Vegas Leviathan posted here several times, claiming to be the poor, victimized Jeanette.

For all we know, this last notice could have been from the sour, deranged Marta.

The big guy could be spending Holy Weekend in the drunk tank.

It's clear he knew we had people on the ground, so he couldn't lie about the Big Bear's Bar Blowout.

I really like the fantasy about people dropping off checks. Sounds like that wedding at the start of "The Godfather".

Re the campaign finance report, I doubt there will be one. He'll never cross the $5000 threshold in the Nebraska law.

Well, I hope the big guy's family is alright.  I have no beef with them, Socialist Steve on the other hand is a different story.

Now wait a minute, didn't Socialist Steve state the bar owner offered to let his place be used for Steve's run for office?

I could have swore that he made a point that he was having it there and his opponent was jealous.  Now he tells us it was the only day available?

The flyers didn't arrive until Wednesday?  Is Steve insinuating that the USPS was slow in getting his materials out to the public, or did he just forget to mail them early enough?

My, my, this campaign has some serious issues.
